My lil sis b day today and to celebrate, she decide to go to a quaint little day spar she tried last year... only she don't want to go alone so i went with her... only i've just gotten over shingles and today was a magnificent sunny day. She booked us in for a hot rock relaxation massage which for me was anything but. Due to the shingles and fleeing fires and what have you, i haven't been for my regular Ostio or Physio treatments in nearly a month... everywhere he touched hurt... he really didn't know what to do with me. Even at his gentlest he was still hurting me... not very relaxing.
The hot rock massage was interesting though. The rocks were almost hot enough to make me yelp but the sensation of heat overwhelmed everything else... even the sensation of pain, but at the same time it's like it was only surface relief... it could get deep enough to really touch the pain. The bed was warmed as well and half way through i was getting seriously dehydrated.
After that was a facial... which my skin didn't really approve of. my skin is pretty sensitive and apparently, dislikes silk in my facial goop. I can't ware wool on my skin without it itching... any form of wool. So my face seriously dislike that.
The only thing that really worked for me was the spa my sis and i had together. Everything went a lot smoother for my sis though, which is good as it cost her $300 and something plus which is with a complimentary upgrade with her facial and a birthday slashing of price on said facial. She has much better heat tolerance than i do.
They also gave her cake and a gift... she'll sooooooooo be back next year. ^^
I on the other hand... i'm not so sure about.
The place was interesting too. their house is actually the day spar... the lockers are in their bedroom, their lounge dining area is where clients come in met, greet and wait. Their bathroom has features like a paper towel dispenser. The business just gradually expanded from the massage room to take over the house. if they make enough, they hope to build something private for themselves and i don't blame them... it'd suck to have to keep the house client ready all the time. There's no 'them' space. The surroundings are magnificent though. it's snuggled into the crown or a mountain with lush but hardy gardens and bush forest all around. Bit of a worry in bush fire season but a perfect local of their day spar.
Still and all, i had trouble keeping my eyes open on the way back and when T dropped me off, i went nose down in my bed for several hours... even now my eyes don't wanna stay open. Apparently getting pampered is exhausting.
