I saw the most amazing kimono exhibit - I always knew that individual kimono were pieces of art, but the presentation of these (by Itchiku Kubato, or Kubato Itchiku more properly) was just stunning. In addition to individual kimono, this museum also had a display of thirty kimono that made up his "Autumn" and "Winter" of his (eventual) eighty piece series entitled "Four Seasons and the Universe". The artwork on each kimono in this series flowed from one to another, part of a seamless whole. It's impossible to really describe - such beautiful scenes of nature.
And I was able to see my very good friend in the process, so it was quite a lovely day!
