I'm really worried for one of my coworkers. She and her dad are caretakers for her mom, and she always calls home on lunch to check on them. Well, when she called home today, no one answered. She called the neighbor to check on them, but no one answered the door. Fortunately our manager let her leave, and I guess when she went home, her dad had left a note saying that they had to take her mom to ICU. I really, really hope that everything's okay.
The library had an open house today from 1-5, so I brought ginger ale for the punch and cookies (I shouldn't have brought the cookies, as we ended up with an overabundance of them). I helped set up and decorate the room, and I helped a woman upstairs label the kids' art display. They had a ceremony for repaying a loan that the Foundation had taken out from a couple of individuals ($700,000) and for recognizing three volunteers. Then I helped to clean everything up.
