So I see Gaia is promoting fishing as the fun thing of the week (if my home page is any indication) and I have no problem with that at all, the more the merrier.

BUT *and here comes the mini rant* could people learn a little about what they're doing before jumping in feet first?

I was fishing in Durem, as you know the hardest lake, and while I was there filling some buckets 4 people wandered into the room I was in and every single one of them had only the basic rod to fish with. rolleyes

Now I don't like to call them newbies (mostly because I think its rude to do that, I myself was one only just over a year ago) because they might have been around Gaia for a while but never tried the fishing lark.

But come on! Basic rod in Durem?! talk2hand

So I each individually told them that they should try Bassken Lake as its the easiest one to learn in and bugger me dead but only one person thanked me for my help! The rest just left without so much as a 'see ya'. stare

Is is asking too much for some simple courtesy? I know I'm old by Gaian standards but surely a thank you hasn't fallen that far out of fashion?

So simple lesson little Gaians:
Start off with baby steps in the simple/easy fishing lakes before jumping into the harder ones
If uncertain research in the forums, that's what they are there for, or ask around
When someone helps you out thank them! it won't cost you anything
*end mini rant*

Oh P.S. My footy team lost a fortnight ago but won last weekend in Tassie!
