what did i tell you, as soon as i was done writing yesterdays entry, i asked my dad to go to blockbuster with me to get a movie, cause i have no school today. as obsessed with geisha and japanese stuff as i am, and as he knows it, i saw the one and only geisha movie in the world on the foreign section of the shelves. so what do i do? i ask "o dear merciful father, could i please rent this wonderful movie about geisha?" and what does he say, you ask? NO! because it is rated "R" and not just any old "R" its rated "R" for 'some sexuality'. after the porn thing, there is nothing that i havent seen or that i wouldent know... even then... i just annoyed him by wasting annother half an hour in the store and then leaving with nothing.(he hates to waste his time) and today i wanted to go to the city with him and he didnt wake me up... he must have known that i was downstairs watching samurai champloo reruns on tivo... nontheless. we got the xmas tree erected in my family room, its all shiny and pretty... i dont know why we have to put the ornaments on it... it looks soo pretty with just the lights on it,, and its shiny and when i am tired, i get to look at it and it has the light bemas you get when you are sleepy,,, its looks more prettyer then! and memoirs of a geisha just announced their movie dates... so check the site ( memoirsofageisha.com ) and see when its playing near you!
but there is the whole contravorsy about how they casted Ziyi Zhang as Chiyo-Sayuri and i totally agree with them. Ziyi Zhang is chinese and sayuri-chiyo is japanese.. duh! (and most of you stupid ignorant americans cant tell the difference, its in the way the eyes rest in the head and the shape of the chin)
