Yaaay! I finally am ready to add chapter 1!! I hope you all enjoy.. and if u dont im sorry, this is my first book!

The Spirits Chapter 1: Shadows

It was a dark and cold place. I didn't know where I was. The unnatural silence scared me.
"W- whats going on?" I said quietly hoping someone would answer me.
I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around and saw a shadow. It was coming towards me slowly... getting closer, and closer. It looked like a boy now that it was closer. He started to reach for me and i started to get nervous.
"G- get away!" I yelled at him backing away.
He kept coming closer and closer.
"No! Stop!" I yelled at him "Jason! Help me! Where are you!?"

I woke up, gasping for air, in my bed at the orphanage I lived in.
"Hmm? Lulu?" Said my tired half-alseep twin sister, Kairi, opening one eye, "Whats wrong? Why are you up so late?"
I looked around our dark room,
"Why is it so dark? Where is my light!?"
"Oh your NIGHTLIGHT?" Kairi teased me as she giggled and leaned up "Liz took it and gave it to some new little kids that are afraid of the dark"
I looked at the dark red light that replaced my bright yellow one,
"NO! She can't do that!" I yelled angrily.
"Shh! Yes she can! She owns this place!" explained Kairi "Besides, Your 13, almost 14, you don't need a nightlight! 13-year-olds are not afraid of the dark!"
"Its not that!" I snapped at Kairi.
"Oh?" Kairi smirked "Then what is it?"
Thats it... I HAD to tell her.
"Kairi, I can see things... Things that normal humans can't see."
Kairi looked at me like I have finally lost it.
I continued, "The darker it is, the more visible they are to me. Thats why I like it bright at night."
Kairi burst into laughter, "Okay Hun, no more snickers before bed for you!" She giggled some more and lied back down.
"Kairi I'm not---" Kairi cut me off.
"Shhh, get some sleep and it will be all better..." She trailed off and fell asleep.
I lied back down.

"Well THAT was pointless." I mumbled to myself.
I closed my eyes and started to fall asleep but the i felt HIS touch.
"Jason?" i said as i turned around towards the angel smiling at me.
"I herd you call for me," He said as he lied down next to me, "Sorry I took so long..."
"It's ok." I said looking into his bright blue eyes and touched his soft light blonde hair.
"What happened?" he asked that worried look he ALWAYS gave me when I was stressed or scared.
"I think it was another demon.." I said remembering my strange dream.
"Don't worry," He said wraping his arms around me "I'm here now, I'll protect you."

Yup thats chapter one! Im starting chapter 2 soon. it should be up by the latest next week.. and if it takes too long im sorry! im just SO lazy in the summer! XP So if anyone has any ideas for future chapters please tell me! biggrin COMMENT!!! lol thnx 4 reading! LUV U!!
