Key to My Heart

This life… so dreary.
My thoughts… so miserable.
The voices… so taunting.
Here I lay, falling into the darkness.
I’m here, waiting once again.

Aching heart, throbbing soul.
Is there no stop to this timeless assault?
Raining blood, merciless pain.
My heart has been stolen and locked away.

I’m losing my will to live.
A shadow consuming my essence.
Relentless torture rakes greedy claws
Into the sinking sun.
Yet still I pull through, waiting once again.

Something catches my eye.
A tender being,
Lighting then distant horizon.
Flickers of hope spread wide.

The cage has been opened.
My heart free to swim in seas of love.
Angle wings brush against my skin.
Warmth surrounding my body.
I’m here, free to be again.

You have found it,
The music to lift me up.
We shall shine in empty darkness,
Bring light to the gloom.
Our spirits twine together,
Reunited in untamed joy.
You have found it,
The key to my heart.
