A Different World

They got back to Revys house least fifteen minutes later. Revys mom didn’t freak, but wasn’t very happy that they bought book that they probably won’t read.

“We’ll read the book mom! Now leave us alone to our awesome girl night,” Revy said to her mom. Her mom just shock her head and walked away.

That night they sang a bunch of different songs, danced to them, watched a few movies, and pigged out on junk food. After the craziness of that night still wearing day cloths, not even close for bed, but tired still, they remembered the book.

They all collapsed on Revys bedroom floor, tired, and laughing their heads off. Then Alex noticed the book on Revys desk. She made her way up and grabbed it and held it up to them.

“Are we going to read this, or what?” Alex asked.

They nodded and sat up on the floor. Alex sat down and put it in the middle of the little circle they made on the floor. Alex slowly opened it to the first page where there was a, warning? They stared at it and Alex read:

To the readers who are about to read this, be warned you are about to enter a world you can never imagine. And the only way to get out of this world is by following the book.
You have been warned.

They stared at the warning confused.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Revy asked.

“Well its warning so it warning us but I don’t get why it says ‘and the only way to get out of this world is by following the book.’ I don’t really get what’s that’s about,” Hannah pointed out.

“Hey if it has fighting, I’ll love it!” Alex exclaimed happily.

Then Alex turned the page but before she could do anything else the book suddenly started to, brighten up?

“What the Hell!?” they all yelled covering their faces from the brightness, there was a gust of wind that came out of no where, they kept yelling. Then as suddenly as the wind and brightness came, it went. They uncovered their faces confused as ever and looked around.

They were definitely not in Revys room anymore. They were in a forest at dawn; dead leaves littered the ground. A gentle breeze came through the forest making the leaves on the huge trees that surrounded them, rustle.

They were still sitting in the same little circle they were sitting in. The book sitting open in the middle of the circle looking like its innocent self.

Wide eyed Alex said with fear and confusion in her voice, “Okay, what the hell just happened, and where the hell are we?”

Hannah was staring at the book, “We’re not in our world anymore, and we’re in a world called…Althilena,” Hannah said to the other two.

She pointed at the book, which had turned to the next page, when she saw their confused looks. They looked and it read:

You have entered into a different world, its name is Althilena. Althilena is a large ancient magically world and this book is your guide through it. If you want to stay alive and get home follow what the book says.

They just stared at each other, and Alex motioned for Hannah to read on. Hannah nodded and turned the page:

Once upon a time there lived three mighty warriors. The Courageous, the born leader and she was as strong as her sword. The Justice, as quick as her knives. The Gentle, as sharp as her arrow.
One day these three mighty warriors came across an old woman, in a wagon. The old woman tells them that their destiny is to defeat the darkness.

“Wait...could we be those three mighty warriors?” Revy asked, questionly. Hannah paused before answering, “Maybe...but I’m not sure, I’m still really confused on, the whole transported to a different world thing.”

Alex sighed, “We’re all confused on the whole transported to a different world thing. But I think this...Althilena, is a medieval, magically like world, since their using swords and bows and arrows and...stuff.”

“Yeah I guess your right, If we actually did get transported, we are probably those three mighty warriors, which means we have to meet the old woman some how,” Hannah said.

Revy stood up brushing off the dead leaves, “Then we better start move-,” the sound of hooves cut her off. They all jumped by the noise, glancing over at a hidden dirt road they didn’t notice. The other two quickly got up, Hannah grabbing the book and holding it to her chest, like her live depended on it. Revy glanced at Alex with the look of, do-we-go-investigate-or-not. Alex nodded with a serious look, in reply. Hannah clutched on to Alex’s jacket sleeve, as they moved toward the dirt road.

There was a wagon, a big, black, Clydesdale, pulling it. Sitting on the old, wooden wagon was an old, woman, that wore a cloak covering most of her face. It was obvious that time had left its mark on her physically, but her eyes told something different. Her green eyes made them feel like they couldn’t hide anything from her, they were the only young thing about her.

It was silent for a long time, or it felt like a long time, her green eyes staring. She finally sighed and said in a surprisingly strong and young voice, “You three aren’t from around here, are you?”

“What if you we are, it’s none of your business,” Alex responded, not sure if that was the right thing to say.

She rose an eyebrow, “Oh really, fine then, farewell,” at that she flicked the rains and the Clydesdale walked, the wagon passing them.

“Remember what the book said!” Hannah said in a hushed tone.

Alex sighed, agitated, she called, “Wait! Stop! We aren’t from around here, so can you please help us.”

She stopped the huge horse, and turned to look at them, smiling, “Come on, get on the wagon then.”

In the back of the wagon there were some woven baskets, with what looked like food sitting in them. Alex climbed into the wagon first, and helped Hannah on; she was still holding the book, Revy following quickly. They sat in silence, as the bumpy ride toke them somewhere. Hannah flicked through the dusty pages of the book, not really reading it. The forest leaves rustling and the huge horse walking were the only sounds they really heard.
