Movie review
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was better than I expected it to be. However...many of Dumbledore's lines just...weren't...well...Dumbledorish. I mean, asking Harry about his love life? Ugh. Why couldn't they have just used dialog from the book? That would actually work and keep him in character. But oh well. The guy who played Malfoy did a good job, as of course did Alan Rickman (but that was expected). I really didn't get the random fight scene at the Weasley's house and how it got blown up. There was absolutely no point to it except to provide an action scene, which they could have done at the end, where there was supposed to be a fight scene but wasn't. It didn't advance the story or even really make sense with the plot. I guess it just gave Harry more time with Ginny. They seemed determined to stick Ginny into all kinds of places where she wasn't in the book. Kind of odd, really. But other than that extreme oddity, they stuck closer to the book than I expected. I would have preferred more of the Riddle memory scenes and less romance, but eh. I like backstory. Although Ron and the love potion scene was priceless.
