Crest was the princess of a nation of phoenix demons. Every morning, Crest would serenade the sun at sunrise, and during the day, she fulfilled her duties to her father and to her people. She and many other princes and princesses, stuck to traditional mating and courtship rituals, sizing the other up, and determining capatability through talents. Crest's talents laid within her singing abilities and her ability and control over the elements, especially fire. Crest has been said to be the reincarnate of the First phoenix.
Phoenix demons are also special in the manner of how they die. Normally, when one dies, they cannot come back. Phoenix demons, however, are able to "revive" or they can be "reborn" shortly after their death. Special cases in which a Phoenix demon cannot come back if they have committed suicide, unless it is for a righteous reason, say as self-sacrifice. It is for this reason that Phoenix demons abhor suicide, and the fact that they revere life.
