Okay, so I think I've settled on final designs for everything.
The theme of each pet is that it comes from an inanimate object. This is because I love Tsukomogami...Which are spirits that inhabit ancient items. There is only one pet that does not come from some kind of object (it's a secret). I like the fluidity of the Japanese tales, where most creatures are shapeshifters by trade. I'll be using very traditional objects for each pet.
I've also got pretty much everything designed. Some of the pets were very difficult to put my own spin on, since they have so many incarnations already! Mostly the canine- and cat-like ones.
I have also decided that there will be open 'SUPER FORM' ideas, where you can have your yokai take a more human form (as they often do in Japanese folklore) or your yokai can just become ULTRA MEGA COOL however you feel like (kappa dragons, anyone?). These will be available as special events, since I don't feel like recolored humans look very good. Yep, you can get away with animals being recolored, but not people, in my opinion.
I also plotted out around 30 events for the club, so I can get all the artwork done ahead of time and then just focus on running the shop.
Also: Two sets of lineart. One will be shown, one left secret mwahahaha.
