Anyway, I might be posting Part 3 a bit earlier than usual. I'm at chapter 7 with that. It might go past twenty with what I have planned. I've decided that it isn't going to be so action-y. But more of exploring Ami's relationship through various circumstances. First five chapters are going to be chaotic because it happens all within a span of 1week. I kid you not. So I won't get angry if you don't understand what's happening. Scratch being 4 ficlets inbetween. It's going to be 5. I had planned a prologue sparking what made Ami like Hyuga in the first place aka the training school arc, but then I went blah with it. I can do that in Part 3 and I only need a ficlet about how Ami decided to become a Guardian in the first place. So yep, expect 5 PSU fluff between NPC/OC.

Chapter 8
The next couple weeks were fairly quiet. It worried Dallgun, for it was like the 'calm before the storm'. Lou appeared alongside the president. "Sir, we have contact with the informant." He nodded. "Go ahead and process it Lou." She nodded as she put her hand out. A screen appeared in front of the two. It was a bit static, but it was good enough for him. "President, sir. I'm sorry that I can't get it any stronger without detection." He nodded. "It's alright." His body tensed up. "So what is it?" The informant took a breath. "It's just as you said. They are planning to reverse the effects of Unification Point. Their original plan was to inject the Gates directly with the Seed-virus. But now, they plan on just infecting one so that it spreads to all the Relics in the Gurhal system. " Dallgun stared. "How do they manage to do that?" "I can't say for sure, but it has something to do with the break-ins. Also, about the other case...." He nodded. "Go on, tell me." "It might be too late. They have increased the exposure. At this rate, a transformation is highly probable." He closed his eyes. "I see. They will be sad to hear it." "But," said the informant, "one said that the virus was responding too well with the body. " Dallgun took a moment to absorb all that he was given. "Thank you. And be careful." The informant gave a salute before cutting off the link. He stood up and looked out of the window again. "Lou, inform Mina to request them to my office."
Within the hour the group of five, Kyoh, Emil, Ethan, Karen, and Hyuga, were at the President's office. "It seems that they are making their move. We've just recieved word that Magashi is planning to infect the Relics with the Seed-virus with some hope that the gates will fall too. I'm ordering you five to go to the Hive and stop it." "Isn't Ami on that Hive?" Kyoh asked. Dallgun was silent for a moment. "Yes, we had someone go and confirm it. But...it's too late for her. It seems that she was injected with the virus as well. It's highly possible that you will see her as a Seed-Form. That's why I'm giving you the order that if you see her, purify her." Everyone was silent for a while. "But sir," said Hyuga, "Maya is working on a vaccine. Can't we just get Maya to inject it into her." He shook his head. "That I do not know. But the informant has told me that they have increased her exposure rate to that we haven't seen before. At this stage, an injection might be ineffective." He closed his eyes and had a somber look on his face. "I understand that this will be difficult to perform. But we have to think about the fate of Gurhal." Emil slowly nodded. "We understand. We'll stop the reversal."
The group was boarding on a ship to reach the Hive. "Why did you accept so easily?" asked Ethan, "Isn't she your pupil? Do you really want to purify her?" Emil thought about the questions. "No, I don't. She's like a daughter to me. I don't have the heart to do it. But I can understand what President Dallgun was saying. If saving everyone means sacrificing one, then how can you say no. Believe me, I'm not happy about the outcome either." Kyoh and Hyuga remained silent for their own personal reasons. "I understand too." said Karen, "But let's at least reason first." Ethan lightly sighed and sat down. "Fine. But Hyuga gets to do it." He suddenly looked at Ethan. "Wha-me? Why?" "You know why." He said with a sudden seriousness. Hyuga developed a light blush on his face. "Okay. I will try." It was because of what Emil had talked to him briefly about. It was Ethan's way of saying, "Now it's time for you to decide." If he didn't know any better, Ethan could land a job as a matchmaker. It wasn't that he didn't think about the conversation. Just that it was a lot to think about. Considering that the only person who was remotely over twenty was Emil, it was a bit too serious of a topic. He shook his head. The short amount of time he had spent with Ami on Moatoob made him believe that there was some hope for her. She was still a bit of the self she was when they first met. "We'll be arriving at the Hive soon." Emil said, "Make sure that you have everything ready, it won't be easy."

The group were now in the Hive. Along the way, they passed by a couple AMF ships. "They are probably going to ambush the place once we're done." Kyoh suggested. The path was filled with various Seed-Forms. But nothing that they haven't handled once before. "This seems a bit too easy." Ethan remarked. They had finally arrived at a grand room. In front of them was a female. She walked up to them. "It's Ami." said Kyoh. She looked at them. Her skin was abnormally pale and her eyes showed no emotion. She materialized a saber out of her hands. "You four keep going." Hyuga said. "I'll handle this." They nodded as they ran past. Ami didn't even pay attention to them as they ran past her. "Don't do something stupid and get yourself killed." Ethan said. Hyuga faintly showed a smile before getting into stance. "Ami, it's me. Regain your senses." She got into a stance as well. "If I have to fight you to regain yourself, then I must." he said.
It was Hyuga who made the first move. He ran towards Ami and slashed at her. She barely avoided it with a slight cut to her arm. Ami retaliated by delivering a thrust, aiming for an organ. He used his saber to deflect the blow. The two held off each other's attacks. "Ami! Wake up!" he shouted. Ami didn't listen as she was unrelenting in her attacks. The clashing continued for several minutes, each getting little cuts along the way. Hyuga was able to hold Ami long enough to talk to her. "Ami, look at me. Don't you remember? When we talked after the Hive was destoryed? Don't you even remember when you used to show passion when you and I sparred in the academy. Just remember something!" Ami kicked him in the chest. He tumbled back, only to feel a photon bullet go through his shoulder.
Ami smiled as she looked down the barrel of her handgun. Hyuga held the wound. "Ugh.." he said. Then he knelt. He looked up at her. "If this is what you want. Then do it." he said. Ami became still. "I have no regrets if it's you." He closed his eyes to brace for the hit. But it never came. Instead, there was a clatter on the ground. He looked to see that the handgun she had was on the ground. Then he looked up. Ami had a strained look on her face, like she was fighting something on the inside. She took a step back and lowered her head. "Ami?" he asked. She slowly looked up at him. Her eyes were slowly going back to normal. "Hyuga? What are you doing here?" Then she looked at herself. She was surprised at how she looked. Ami wrapped her arms around herself, in some attempt to cover herself up. "Where are we?" Hyuga slowly got up. His arm felt a bit numb though. "At the Hive?" It was then Ami finally noticed the injury on him. She took another step back. "Don't come any closer." He stopped. "I did that," Ami said, "didn't I?" He looked away from her. "I thought so." Ami picked up the handgun, and threw it at him. "End it for me."
"What?!" Hyuga exclaimed, "I can't do-" "You have to!" she shouted at him. Ami looked down at the ground. "It's fuzzy, but I know I did some horrible things. And the nano-machines, they are running rampant in me right now. Just end it for me. That way, I won't suffer anymore." She put on a smile, despite that she was feeling sad at the moment. "If it's you, then I won't argue." He shook his head violently. "No, we came here to get you and I know I won't come back without you." "We?" He nodded. "Yeah, Kyoh, Ethan, Karen, and even Emil. They all came here too." Then there was a beeping sound coming from Hyuga's comm-unit. "We've destoryed their plans. But they planted a bomb here." said Emil. "How long?" he asked. "About thirty minutes and counting." "It seems that Ami has regained her senses. But she wants me to shoot her." Emil was silent for a moment. "Let me talk with her." Hyuga took off the comm-unit and gave it to Ami. "Emil wants to speak with you." Ami hesitantly took the comm-unit and placed it on her ear. "Emil?" "Why are you giving up so easily!?" he asked. Ami was silent. "I can't go back to being a Guardian now, after what I've done." "Don't be stupid! I taught you better than that. You will live. And even if you can't become a Guardian again, you can do a lot more things. Live, understand?" Ami closed her eyes. She gave a half-hearted smile. "I'll try." She shut off the link and gave it back to Hyuga. Once it was back on him, he offered his hand. "Come on. This Hive will be destroyed in a few minutes."
As the two ran towards the ship, Ami stopped. "Ami?" Hyuga said. He turned around, only to see Ami on the ground, coughing up blood. "I think...it's the nano-machines." she managed to say, "I don't think I can continue walking in this condition." Hyuga went over and picked her up. "I'll carry you, is that fine?" A blush came upon Ami's face. She gently nodded. The trek back was fairly silent. "Hyuga, I wanted to say that I'm sorry." "You were under the influence of the machines and the Seed, there's nothing to worry about." he said. Ami shook her head. "Not that. About not telling you or anyone else about the nano-machines. I thought that if I could keep them in my body for a while longer, then they would lead me to Magashi." Her eyes lowered a bit. "Seems like I can't do anything by myself." "Don't say that." he said. Ami shook her head. "It is true. And I haven't been the most friendly person to be around either." She closed her eyes. "I just wanted to say I'm sorry. If I don't make it-" "You're going to make it okay?" he scolded. A smile came upon her face. "Right, I shouldn't be so depressing." Ami leaned into his chest. "Tired." she said slowly. Soon Ami was unconscious.
As soon as Hyuga and Ami arrived at the entrance, two ships were waiting for them. One was the ship that Hyuga went on. By then Kyoh, Ethan, Karen, and Emil were waiting. Kyoh ran up to the two. There was a wash of relief on his face. Then two women in white labcoats appeared before them. It was Maya and Emelia. Maya looked over Ami. "We'll go on ahead and take her back first. She needs immediate medical attention." she said. Emelia had a stretcher ready, along with other personel. Emelia put her arms out while Hyuga transferred Ami to her. Emelia took notice to his injury as well. "And maybe you as well." He waved it off. "No, Ami needs the most right now. I'll go to the medics when we get back." Emil coughed a bit. "As much I would love to chat, this Hive is going to explode in minutes." Everyone got on their respective ships and left the Hive only moments before it was destroyed.

I think I made Ami a bit too forgiving of herself. Anyway, I fix it in the later chapters.
