"Hello dear." I said as I came into the room.
"Lamia?" she asked
"Yes."
"I never thought I'd see you again."
"I thought I told you to get a new home."
"I'm sorry."
"It's ok. Your stubborn. How have you been?"
"Good, I got married and had a daughter."
"What's her name?"
"Audrey. She looks a lot like you actually."
"I'm sure she's beautiful." i said the nonexistent color draining from my face.
"She is."
"How old?"
"About your 'age'"
"I see."
I sat down and we talked for hours. I explained to her what had happened.
She was surprised but didn't mind.
"I could have known something like this would happen. You'll take good care of her won't you?" she asked after three hours.
"Of course."
"You haven't run into any 'old friends' lately? Have you?" she asked me worried.
"Not exactly. The Watchers are back. They aren't anything to be to worried about. We just have to lie low for a little while longer."
"Are you sure? I've never heard of these, who did you say? Watchers?"
"They are a group of humans who are obsesed with the supernatural and try to hunt us down and force us to change them into one of us. They almost never capture any of us but their technology is improving every day. I haven't had to worry about them for years. I have no idea what they are capable of nowadays."
"Oh. oh my."
"Well, I think I should go."
"Alright."
"Bye Alexandra."
"Goodbye Lamia."
I left the building and started heading home. When I got there everyone must still have been sleeping for, I didn't hear any voices or movement. I tore up the note I had left and flopped down on a couch. I picked up one of my dozen remotes and hit the big red button on it. Immediatly an ear piercingalarm spread throughout the house. I pressed the button again. I listened.
There wasnt any sound anywhere, not even a heartbeat.
