Honestly, I like working at JoAnns and all, but I really have no reason to work hard and bump up in position since I'm gonna be quitting in about 2 years, then moving to CA. So it's like.. what's the point in working my a** off, impressing the boss, getting promotions and what not, only to quit in 2 years? The money from here til then is the only real motivation I have. But once I quit, I'm going to have to start from scratch. I'm willing to do it, but seems like kind of a waste. :/
But, now I actually have more motivation. I spoke to my boss the other day and I asked her if there was anyway if I were to get promoted and work at JoAnns for a few years, could I get transferred along with my position, to another JoAnns far away. She tells me people do it all the time. One employee moves from here to Florida when it begins to get cold, then transfers back over here when it gets warm again. SO the epicness of this is, I can work, work, work, save, save, save, and transfer to CA without giving anything up other than my being familiar with this store. I won't have to look for another job in CA and work my way up. I'm willing to do it, worst case scenario, but I won't have to do it, which is great!
Now then, I honestly can't see myself working at JoAnns with a college degree in Psychotherapy so I do NOT plan to work at JoAnns for so long. I don't hate the job, but I'd hate working there for the rest of my life. Just.. no. I want to expand my horizons and do what I love, not something I can tolerate. But it's good to know it'll pay off in other ways til I reach my goals. Just a small discovery I thought I'd share.
Can't wait til June, babe. xP
