I am commited heart and soul to my principles and to my God.
Lighting the Flames
Fires burned behind her glass-blue eyes. Rage consumed her. She gripped the bow tighter, slipping an arrow from the quiver strapped to her back. She notched it and brought it up to her cheek, sighting down the flawless wood, past the pointed iron tip, and to the back of the man. The laughter echoed in her head, causing the rage to build more. She pulled the string back as far as it would allow, her rage boiling.

“All your pitiful friends are doomed, all because of you!” The words echoed in her head along with the laughter. Hot tears streamed down her pale cheeks, making her already matted black hair stick to her face.

“No!” she screamed. She loosed the arrow and watched it fly through the air. It thudded into the evil man’s back, burying itself all the way to the fletched end. She allowed herself a sigh of relief as the man toppled over, dead before he hit the ground. Suddenly, laughter reverberated throughout the vast cavern, the same laughter that was held in the girl’s head.

“Nice try, girly! You won’t find me!” The evil voice joined the loud laughter. Terrion was on guard, dropping her bow and drawing her sword.

“Show yourself, Kirith!” She gazed around, watching every flickering shadow. Many candles lined the dark cavern, dancing. Terrion growled as the laughter resided.

“Shoot! He got away again, the sneaky trickster!” She sheathed the sword and picked up her bow. Kirith will fall! She reminded herself. My friends still live. I think. She glanced around, watching for Kirith’s minions.
