1] Death It was odd that death brought a new light into his life. Sora smiled down at the little three year old clutching his hand like a lifeline, while trying to fight back his own tears. "Hey...it'll be okay, Yuuko. Your Mommy and Daddy are in a better place now." They had to be, for his sake as well as hers. Bright aquamarine eyes so reminiscient of his best friend's looked into his blue ones, the little girl sniffling as tears fell down her cheeks. "R-rea'y?" Sora nodded. "Yeah! And when it's our time, we'll go to be with them, and we'll be all together forever! But not before then, okay?" Yuuko nodded, red hair swishing with the movement. "Mmkay, Unca' Sora." Sora ruffled her hair with his free hand and at last moved forward with her to place flowers on the joint graves before him. Kairi & Riku Loyal Friends, Beloved Children, Devoted Parents Proof Light and Darkness are forever intertwined
But he would miss his two best friends for the rest of his days.
2] Happiness Sora 'oofed' as something small practically glomped his legs and he nearly dropped the cans he was restocking. After getting control of the cans once more and quickly finishing up, he looked down to see a grinning Yuuko. "Well now...I thought 'Unca' Tidus' was watching you, sweetheart." A groan from his side signaled the arrival of a very harried-looking Blitzer. "I promised her cookies, and since I can't bake we came here. And of course, she always knows where you are." Sora chuckled and picked his 'niece' up. "Well then, let's get you some cookies! My shift's about up anyways, so I can join you guys."
He was certain he would do anything to keep the happiness in her eyes, just so he'd never have to see Riku in them ever again.
3] Sorrow A year. A year had passed, and now Sora sat in front of his friends' grave, not bothering to hold back the tears as they flowed. No one else was around...his mother was watching Yuuko and everyone else had already paid their respects. It was just Sora, his sorrow, and the cold, lifeless bodies of the two people who'd meant everything to him buried six feet under.
4] Belong He had no one to hang out with anymore. It was the same thing every day. At least...it was until his co-worker Kokoro snuck up on him and held an envelope in front of his face. "An invite. To mine and Tamashii's birthday party. You'll like the crowd, most of 'em won't be our co-workers." Sora took the invite and blinked...then smiled. "Sure." All of a sudden, he belonged in life again.
5] Longing There were days when Sora looked at Yuuko and wanted nothing more than his best friends back.
6] Secret Yuuko giggled as she sat on her pillow, stuffed frog clutched tightly to her chest. "You'll be my bestest friend! And I'll tell you everything!" She held the blue and yellow stuffy in front of her face and lowered her voice. "Even my deepest secrets. Like...don't tell Unca' Sora, but I kinda DID eat the last cookie his mommy made."
