Annie's Bday Sat. 11.7.09 to LEAP's First Meeting! Success!

I feel like a rabbit for various reasons right now, but today wasn't half bad.

LEAP's first meeting was a success! We have a handful of new members freshmen and sophomores. We played Andrea's stranded island game with the pretzels where you say one thing about yourself for every pretzel you take. I took a lot of pretzels so I talked about my animal metamorphosis stages, my love for piano, and my love for my dear mother Yuna. ;3 And there were baby carrots! So I was happy. I think I can actually remember most of the new member's names/faces. To some extent, since I'm bad with faces.

And now for the not so great things about today.

I was late to school, which Amma was quite pissed about when I got home because supposedly, although the latenesses have not counted, since Ms. Goldstein doesn't count them, I still have 10 latenesses according to the attendance office. Although really, I find that strange because I recall having been late only 3 times. This is actually pretty sad for one with first period free.

Secondly, on the downside, I didn't get around to writing Catherine's letter for today. We've started writing letters to each other! Which make this tadpole child very happy here because I love writing letters and it's a total downer when so many other people I know don't. Actually, a lot of people I know are so reclusive (SAT word!). They don't like talking on the phone or writing letters and they don't check their emails (although i guess considering schoolwork, a lot of people do check their emails). They just like AIM and facebook. Not that I'm not a victim of the frenzy, but as one of my favorite mangakas said (can't remember which one, but its one of the series that i own!), people really need to talk to each other in the flesh sometimes. It's good for them.

Another problem. Latin project. Easy A? Yes. Too much work for this lazy tadpole child? No. Too much effort for this little tadpole child? Yes. It's a sad, sad life being lived here.

Also, Catherine has convinced me to join Indoor Track! And I really want to, but Amma has discouraged me. D: Supposedly, malnourishment as a baby is relevant to me joining track now? And she seems to be under the impression that I'm weak, which I'm so not! 20 push-ups, 100+ curl ups has to be at least average! D: And I'm definitely very flexible! Gerr. It irks me that I've been discouraged by my own mother. D: But I suppose this isn't my first time getting that. Or is it? I actually can't remember. o.o

I need to work on that project now. T.T

Oh yeah, just to mention that it was really fun, and that the curse of rabbit has been lifted, I went ice skating with Annie, Christina, Amy, and Annie's friend (now my new anime loving friend also :]) Hannah at the World Ice Arena in Flushing. I re-learned how to ice skate! Although allegedly the situation was that I was skating fine but was too scared to get off the railing. Still, I feel very unstable even if others say I'm doing fine! >///< Ah, but it was fun. Amy and me joint bought Annie a Toki Doki shirt for her birthday from Macy's. And we got scarves from Old Navy, since they were cute and $1 each! Or was that just peer pressure. Amy's good at convincing me of things. xD Speaking of which, I left the scarf (white one) at the rink and Annie said she'd give it to me Monday. I guess we both forgot. Oh yeah, when I was leaving, Annie's parents gave me a ride to the train station since I didn't know the way back from the rink to Main Street. xD Annie's parents are really nice! Her mom is really friendly and easy to talk to. And she's a piano lover like me! Apparently she really wants Annie to take piano seriously because singing is something she can do anytime, but piano is more important? I wonder if that's some sort of cultural concept. Either way, they were really nice and it was a happy-ful day. Totally worth the brased skin on my legs from the plasticky skates.

I hope tomorrow will be even semi-nice? I have a lot of work to do, don't I?

I'm pretty sure you can do at least 10 curl ups. xD

LEAP stands for League of Environmental and Animal Protection. It's the club that I am the most dedicated to in school! :]
