Story: Midnight Chills
here's the beginning of my other story i'm working on.XD

Introduction:
As I passed by my senior graduation day auditorium, I felt a sense of eerie relief. It had been years since I had graduated, the room held nothing for me except a haunting sense of guilt. It was the most melancholy and happiest day for me, the day I would lose my best friend forever and become a doctor. I wish I hadn’t known her, anything to wash away this guilt. I can still remember how she looked in her last moments of life, a beautiful corrupt angel who wanted to drag me to the deepest depths of Hell.

Chapter 1: Encounter
A family road trip wasn’t exactly the best way to ease my mind of the thought of moving into new territory with unforeseen danger. The idea of staying in the car for hours on end was nerve wracking. I groaned, “Hey mom, are we there yet?” my mom answered back in annoyance, “Thomas, we are not there yet and will you stop shaking your leg, you’re making me dizzy.” I sighed in defeat; it always puzzled me how my leg shaking could possibly make her dizzy when she never paid attention to it. I decided to settle down and doze off in the car, the way I usually passed the time on a family road trip.
It seemed like hours when in fact we were only half way there; we stopped by a restaurant to have lunch. I groggily woke up, reluctant to wake up, and stretched when I got out of the car when I sighted the restaurant. The restaurant wasn’t very impressive; in fact, I wasn’t sure if it could support itself. I cautiously entered the restaurant, ready to make a run for it if need be. As we waited in line to order, I kept fidgeting due to nervousness; I always fidgeted when I was somewhere unfamiliar. “Thomas, stop fidgeting. The restaurant isn’t that bad” My mother said in irritation, I took it she was still in a bad mood.
Earlier she had gotten in a fit with dad about his driving; she was scared to death we would crash or something. “Come on sport, let’s go sit down while your mother simmers down, what do you say?” my dad said in a jocular tone. “Sure, dad” I responded while we sat down. Boy, if looks could kill, the customers would've dashed out of the restaurant in a flash. All the other customers could sense the deadly aura surrounding my mother. My mother hastily ordered and promptly seated herself next to me. Apparently, she was still mad at dad.
The minutes seemed to tick by sluggishly as we waited for our orders.
