Forever Friends (dedicated to my best friend)
Friends don’t last forever,
but the memories of them do.
If I had never known you,
I doubt that I would be the way I am.
Friends are blessings,
not to be treated carelessly.
They help you,
and support you when you need them.
When you’re hurt,
they do their best to comfort you
and when you’re lonely,
they do their best to make you feel worthy.
They know you better than yourself,
they know you through and through
They’re the ones that you can trust
with your secrets, hopes, and dreams.
It’s hard to find a friend like you,
someone who stands out from the crowd.
Always there to lend a hand,
help when help is needed.
I believe in you,
and I hope you believe in me.
You help me to believe in myself,
and recognize my dreams.
Telling me it’s okay to reach for the stars
because you’ll be there to catch me if I fall.
It has been my lifelong dream
to find a friend like you
who will do anything to help
and anything to wipe away the doubt.
True friends are the golden ones,
the ones to keep till old age.
When our paths diverge,
I hope, I hope,
we’ll be those friends
whose hearts never truly part.
