I should change the name of this journal to something just as random as me. =/ Since these are clearly no longer updates on me and my stuff. Oh well.

Sooo ... Yeah. I have issues with gendered words. Mostly because my cousin has an issue with them - but in a different way. First, to me a gendered word is a word associated with a certain sex or gender. Pretty and handsome being the biggest issues between me and my cousin. She doesn't think I should be allowed to use pretty when talking about a male. She has no issues with me using handsome when I'm talking about a girl, though! But no, men aren't allowed to be demasculinized that way! As if! By using the word pretty, I'm saying they're aesthetically pleasing in a certain way that makes me think they're pretty.
When I use gendered words that don't seem to 'fit', I use them because that's exactly what I see. If I call you pretty, that's because you are. If I call you beautiful, you're beautiful. If I use handsome, goddamnit, you're handsome! She also doesn't think I'm allowed to think that androgyny is aesthetically pleasing. What kind of bullshit is that? I don't tell her she's not allowed to like men with massive amounts of muscles ( *Shudder* that is just so gross! Dx ) just because I don't find them aesthetically pleasing. In fact, she seems to think that if she's not attracted to them, I can't be either. If that works in reverse, she isn't allowed to like anyone. Ever. Period.
-____-* Seriously. I'm just going to explode on her one day. I'm looking forward to the day I find an opportunity to ask her, "What if I brought a girl home?"
Since she's so obviously homophobic, too. Her and her social constructs. God, I hate them.
