Rose and the Fight from Another Dimension

Rose had started throwing air bolts at Other Nogard while flying toward her. Other Nogard ducked as Rose flew at her, managing to dodge Rose's air bolts.

Meanwhile, Taran got over to the wounded Annamarie and the embers, and started to scoop the embers up into a messenger bag. They were surprisingly only warm to the touch, which meant they were the right embers; they were Nogard.

Rose had flown over Other Nogard, so flipped mid-air and shot a line of flame at Other Nogard. Of course, she had forgotten that Nogard- in any dimension- was a creature of fire. So of course, Other Nogard easily deflected the flames with one of the Dinos, and in the same movement shot her own flames back at Rose.

"You're Rose, aren't you? In my world, Dragon killed you when you were a toddler." Other Nogard said seriously.

"Well, in my world, we only dispatch the rotten ones!" Rose replied back, managing to dodge most of the fire, but still got a little singed. Rose dove toward the ground, finding being in the air not enough of an advantage in this battle. If Other Nogard had no Rose, then she really might underestimate the power of air.

"Aw." Other Nogard said, seeing Rose go down. "If you can't take a little fire, maybe you ought to go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross; but it's not for the timid."

Rose tried to dismiss the taunts- this Other Nogard didn't know her nor what she was capable of. Just as she pulled out of her dive into a landing, she created walls of condense air that suddenly boxed Other Nogard in. Seeing Other Nogard suddenly become aware of this prison- trying to slash at the walls with the swords with little effect- Rose turned to see to the embers, Taran and the wounded girl.

Taran had already stowed ember-Nogard in his bag and had slung it over his shoulder, and so was just looking back to Rose and Other Nogard when Rose turned and began to head over to help the girl.

Other Nogard was furious about this entrapment, of course, and snarled at Rose's turned back; "Well, all good things must come to an end!" She then launched a sword that had managed to remain unaffected by the wall of air, aiming straight at Rose's turned back.

Taran saw the movement, and immediately shot a line of lightning at the launched sword. The lightning made contact with the sword only seconds before it would have killed Rose- which therefore managed only to divert it's final destination. The lightning continued on towards the sender of the sword- Other Nogard- who used her remaining sword to deflect it. Meanwhile, the flying sword sliced easily through Rose's shoulder, and embedded itself in a nearby rock.

"You know, Dragon killed you too, Taran. Of course, by then you had already betrayed your Dragon." Other Nogard said haughtily.

Taran gritted his teeth and shook his head slowly. He wouldn't believe that of himself, ever, in any dimension. Part of him understood her taunts were aimed to provoke blind anger. He held onto that understanding.

Rose didn't hear any of that. She was intent on her current task; Healing the girl that they had caught Other Nogard trying to kill when they arrived. It was a slower Healing than normal, since she had to work to ignore the pain searing through her shoulder, and couldn't use that arm currently.

Rose had barely sealed up Annamarie's skin and some of the more vital tissues when Annamarie seemed to comprehend the situation. She looked up at Rose, saw her gashed shoulder, and heard Other Nogard's latest quip. She had had enough.

"Two of yeh destract Fluffy Tail. I'll run 'er through." Annamarie said, flipping suddenly up onto her feet. She looked a little green suddenly, feeling the pangs of a half-Healed wound sear through her. But she wasn't going to let that stop her now.

Rose and Taran shared a moment where their faces looked confused, concerned and then confident, as they considered her plan. Only one second later, Taran turned and ran back at Other Nogard, shooting lightning bolts at her. She deflected them, of course. But Rose took back to the air, shooting more air bolts down at Other Nogard, who was still trapped in the box of air, and had limited mobility. Of course, the added strain was weakening Rose's box spell, and she quickly glanced over to n**, who was still occassionally shrieking and still writhing in pain, but did not seem to be in mortal peril. But Rose had to decide to allow more of the air walls of the box to weaken in order to ensure she would have the strength to keep consciousness. n**'s survival depended on it.

Other Nogard used the added mobility to deflect every attack that Taran and Rose threw against her, and even threw a few flame balls back at them from time to time. But not for long.

Annamarie had followed through on her plan, and had dipped out of Other Nogard's field of vision in order to sneak up behind her. Having retrieved the Dino sword that Other Nogard had thrown at Rose, she came at her from behind quite suddenly and silently.

Annamarie drove the Dino sword through the back of Other Nogard's head. She spun it, and it sliced all the way around. Other Nogard's head fell off her neck, and bounced as it fell against Rose's wall of air.

Annamarie grimaced and clutched at her half-Healed chest as she sank to her knees.

Rose dropped her air walls, and landed somewhat roughly back on the ground, close to Annamarie. The girl still hadn't been fully Healed, after all.

Taran walked over to Other Nogard's body, and nudged her torso with his foot. Nothing happened, thankfully.

Annamarie saw him, and simply said "She dead." Taran nodded, as he could feel that there was something more right about the universe once again.
