Kyrre; Taking Requests

Kyrre sighed. He seemed to be doing a lot of that today. He accepted the parchment- another request for the new Queen to accept a Plea- and set it in the stack on the desk. The desk itself was something of an oddity in the throne room. Set on the dias, to the right of the empty throne, Kyrre felt more like a secretary than a Viceroy. But there wasn't much he could do today. The Pleas would keep coming in all this week. The first day was usually the worst, as they were handed in by petitioners themselves. Later would come the ones sent by couriers at least, and Kyrre wouldn't have to listen to the heartbroken pleas of citizens of Southern Gaia hoping for the release of a loved one incarcerated, or a waiver of backtaxes, grants for scientific funding, acceptances into Guard training, requests for outside healing help... to name a few.

Passing yet another parchment into the tray on the desk, Kyrre nodded and smiled as the current Petitioner explained the problem with the property line and requested a favorable decision from the Queen. He repeated what he had been saying all day.

"Her Highness will review your Plea herself, and make a Just decision. Thank you."

He looked past the kitsune woman who (like many had so far) seemed to find this to be somewhat of an anti-climactic answer, and saw the line of people still waiting to hand their Pleas in. A Plea, as custom dictated, could only be proposed following a Coronation, Royal Wedding, the Birth of a new Royal descendant, or the Naming of a Crown Prince/Princess. None of that had happened in over fifty years, so there were quite a few kitsunes eager to get their requests in.

Kyrre really hoped Queen Rose would return soon.
