Marti's stared up at the sky moodily, watching as yet another star blinked for a few minutes then went out.A few seconds later, another one did the same.She reached up,as if to simply catch the next star before it to went out then dropped her hand back down beside her. This had been happening for a few months now. The first time shed seen it, shed been sitting on her familys porch,somthing her mother had made her father add as an apology for what had happened to them a few months ago.And her fathers idea of apology had kept marti's awake for the last three weeks,a pillow smashed over her ears to block out the animalistic noises she heard. Which was one reason she had gone outside. Shed been playing connect the stars when her 11th star had suddenly flashed and went out, as if someone had doused it in water. Then her 9th, 6th, and 2nd star had gone out the same way.This had startled her some what, as shed never seen her stars do this before. And as a respected guild member, she immdiantly went to tell Grave, her father. Of course shed been forced to wait till he'd stummbled out to relive himself."dad, theres something wrong". he looked at her."And what might that be?" "well besides the fact that you guys arent letting me sleep, the stars are going out....like someones turning them off." Grave waved his hand in dismissal." Stars always go out babe-it's nothing to worry about".
She frowned, remembering his words of dis-concern. lately her father had been rather unconcerned about a lot of things. And her mother was just being..her mother.She watched as another star, avious, blinked..then sputtered out. Calmly she scanned the sky."One two..three.....eight..eight stars are left in my area.And nobody seems to think this odd...but me".
