Volunteering requires a lot of paperwork.
I've apparently been volunteering illegally at the hospital with the old ladies, so I had to go in today and get interviewed by the volunteer coordinator (after stopping by security). I had to sign lots of papers, answer lots of questions, and get fingerprinted. And next week I have to go back to get a badge, which I have to wear at all times in the building. In addition to signing in and out. I know they're doing this to protect themselves in case of a lawsuit, but it's still a little ridiculous when I'm only going to be in the building one day a month for less than a year and I don't interact with any patients. No wonder more people don't volunteer.
