The following is an idea that I've often amused myself with. Perhaps you'll get a kick out of it too.
As things currently stand, there is virtually no evidence for the existence of Jesus Christ as described in the Bible, though it is certainly possible (perhaps even plausible) that it were based on a real mortal man of the time.
What if there were a significant archeological find that, in one way or another, proved the existence of a man by the name of Jesus Christ, with many disciples, was crucified for his beliefs, and so on. And what if the same evidence also undeniably proved that this man was also a homosexual? Meaning: If you accept the evidence for Jesus Christ, you also accept that he had to have been homosexual.
I understand that a lot of people really wouldn't care, and that's great. What I really want to know is how you think the fundamentalists would react. You know, the ones waving around signs saying "GOD HATES FAGS!" and ranting on about how all gays are going to burn in hell. How would they react to finding their supposed savior was under the same sexual orientation that they constantly bully and ridicule?
I'd just love to see the looks on their faces (: My own thoughts? Seeing as fundamentalists aren't exactly logic and evidence based creatures, I'm sure they'd find some way to make up some flaw in the evidence to convince others that it doesn't really say Jesus was gay, despite what everyone else (including those who studied the evidence for themselves) suggest. It's never stopped them before.
