Title says it all. My top seven reasons to reevaluate any position held by or proposed to you:
1. Supporting arguments rely more on the pulling of heart-strings and emotional responses than evidence,
2. Criticism of the position is more frequently met with offense rather than objection,
3. Assertions are made rather than questions posed; Strawmen arguments, especially,
4. Refusal to provide credible sources and/or answer objections to claims, excuses are made when attempting closer scrutiny,
5. Assuming the (perceived) lack of other explanations, or the (perceived) weaknesses of other existing ones, immediately make their position any more credible,
6. Arguer shows little to no understanding of the position they're arguing for and/or against,
and last, but certainly not least... 7. Requires any amount of "faith". If arguments require that you already hold the position to find any of them compelling (e.g. Belief in a God requiring you already have faith in the scripture it comes from), consider it a big ol' red flag.
