Prelude
Letters

12/28/14

Its windy out today. Its a bitter wind. You probably wouldn't like it very much, would you? Snow's on the ground, too. I imagine you wouldn't like that, either. But I love it. Or maybe you do. I never got to ask you.
Anyways, tomorrow's my birthday. I'm turning 23. Remember the last time I saw you? I was 19. Can you believe it? I can't. And I thought turning 21 was crazy.

Anywho, I'm not doing too much; Lauren and Gentry can't come, they are at Citidius right now. Hes going to pop the question to her. Oh, the question of marriage, I mean. I'm not supposed to tell anyone, but I can trust you. I helped him pick out the ring along with Amanda. Amanda still loves Riku, its pretty obvious. Today, when he, Sora and Kairi visited, she practically flew into his arms. Seriously, it was pretty funny when he fell down with her on top of him. He got all flustered and we laughed at the two. Amanda punched me in the arm for that one!

I got to go, I'll write again tomorrow. Promise!

Love, Lindsay

The brunette writing this letter sighed as she put it in a black binder. The click of the rings snapped, and she gingerly shut the binder. It was quite thick, loose leaf papers, pictures, and other random papers were inside of it. On the front of the binder, in silver marker there was a name.
Axel/Lea
She sat at the desk for a moment, tracing the letters. The room she was in suddenly felt cramped, and she shot up from her desk.
Shoving the binder in her suitcase from college (it was winter break, after all), she scurried over to her door and out of her bedroom.
"Lindsay? LINDSAY?!" Her mother shouted from below the stairs.
"COMING." Lindsay shouted back in an annoyed voice. Her mother then told her to hurry, her food was getting cold.
It had been 3 years since the 'incident'. The incident being when heartless took over their world, along with many others. Things were better now, peaceful and back to normal. No one was none the wiser.
Lauren was still writing a book of this adventure, appropriately called "KINGDOM HEARTS; WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE". Needless to say, she had a publisher already in the works of having the book published. She, along with Lindsay were to graduate in the spring. Amanda would too, but she wanted to take some extra classes for Art. She had gotten some of her pieces in a museum near their college, and has been quite well-known for it.
Gentry's world has been thriving, he has gone up in rank immensely-being the king's second-hand. Cassandra has still not been found, along with her father, the ex-king of Citidius. The new king was better, the ex-king's much kinder and smarter little brother. He and Gentry get along quite well, and things have never been better. Gentry and Lauren travel back and forth to eachother's own world, but Gentry has plans of moving to Lodisius soon. Of course, he would commute to each world. Believe it or not, Lauren and Gentry's parents approve of the two (and of course, Lauren had to make up how she knew Gentry, it wasn't an easy task).
And then there was Lindsay. She had gone up in the dancing world, and plans to become a dancing teacher. Right now, she had a job at a skating restaurant-to earn enough money to go to the prestigious school in another region of their world, called Scicion. She hoped that she could get into Broadway, but of course needed the money to do so. She wasn't too well-known yet, but a few dance committees and troupes had spotted her. She had gotten a few calls from these troupes and committees, but she has not answered them back as of yet.
Theres something holding him back.
And everyone she knows (except her family) knows why.
The red-headed, emerald-eyed man named Axel-or now is known as Lea. She still referred to him as Axel, as it now became a nick-name.
However...Once his heart had been restored, forces had separated them. She could still remember when his heart came back to him. She was the one who saved it. He turned into someone different, yet he was still himself. He was no longer a nobody. He was...A somebody. It was then that she confessed that she loved him, and he was about to say something...But he was dissipating. In thin air. Right in front of her. She reached out for him in vain-he did as well.
And then...He was gone.
Yen Sid had told her that he had not died, for his heart was still out there. He knew that much. Yet he did not know where.
And then...That was it.
She looked the same. Acted the same. But something in her heart was gone. A hole was carved out, Per Se. Lindsay knew who had taken that piece out. And he had it. She didn't even know if he returned the feelings. He might've thought her as a little sister. Or just a good friend. She wished that he loved her. But he hadn't come back to her. He was out there, somewhere. She had asked Sora and the others constantly if they saw anything.
Yet, they had saw nothing.
Lindsay stared down at the gross-looking broccoli casserole in front of her, and the chicken looked hard and chewy. Her tea didn't even look good either. Too many sots. Eating didn't even sound good. "Can I be excused?" She asked her father and mother. Her two siblings were married, and had their own home. She was the only child left to be unwed. Or anything. Her parents didn't care though, even if they were curious as to why she didn't have a boyfriend. Awkward conversations definitely ensured, but died down.
Her mother looked at her. "Not hungry, hon?" She asked, her eyes boring into Lindsay's equally brown ones.
"No."
"Let me feel your head, you might be overworking yourself lately." She placed her cool hand on Lindsay's forehead. It felt good. "Aw, babe." She muttered, and stroked her short chestnut hair. "You're a bit warm."
"Take her temperature, Penny." Her father instructed and her mother nodded, "Go to your room and lie down, I'll make you some soup." Her father offered. He was the cook of the small home, her mother didn't like to do that sort of thing.
Lindsay got up and nodded, her eyes feeling heavy. When she heard her mother talking to her father in the kitchen, she wanted to cry.
"Shes overworking herself to death, Fred!"
"I know, I know."
"Well, we got to do something! Between her dancing and her working and all those calls from those troupes, I think she might break down!"
"Its just a fever. Shes been fine, Pen."
"Oh, I know but-"
"C'mon, just quit being dramatic."
"Fine, fine. I'm gonna go take her temp now."
Lindsay rolled over in her bed, tucking the edge of her comforter under her chin. She wished so much in the past, before him. Now, she had only one wish.
"Come back, Axel. Just...Come back." Her eyes closed and she fell into a deep sleep.
