Germ-in-ate-ing...
Ok, so I began germinating the Green Bean 'seeds' today.
And just for fun I placed them in a left over party napkin from my nephew's birthday.
I also decided to label them and the chive seeds because I got confused last night and didn't recognize the Broccoli seeds. sweatdrop
Speeking of Broccoli, those seeds are beginning to sprout, slowly...
The Chives just started the other day so no surprise that they have no apparent change. The Green Peppers, on the other hand, I started on the ninth and they do not appear to be growing at all... I may need to try starting another batch just in case.
I moved the germination trays into my (armour?) dresser, and they seem to be retaining watter better then when they where under my futon.
All that's left for this month is to germinate the Lettus on the 21st and the Marigolds on the 22nd. Then I'll be done with the germination phase and will have to get my a** in gear to get the garden bed ready for planting on the 30th.
I've broken up the planting into three days, (Green Beans, Broccoli, and Carrots on the 30th, Onions, Green Peppers and Garlic on the 1st, and Chives, Lettus and the Marigolds on the 2nd,) so that I don't have too much work to do all at once. Let's hope the weather will accommodate.
Oh, also an up-date. It appears that my sister's cat, Skyler, did take a bite out of the garlic I have growing on my night stand... Normally she wolfs down the entire plant before I get a chance to stop her, I hope that since she didn't finish it that that means she'll not be going after it again.
Well, heres to hoping.
Oh, and my sister wants me to plant Day Lillis so I'll probably be planting those as well. I haven't any bulbs yet, but I do have the perfect place for them. I have an old, and quite large, planter that will work out well.
Still need to re-organize the layout of the garden bed to take into consideration the drainage spouts leading from the gutters. Maybe I'll do that tonight.
