I remember this feeling,
This feeling all to well.

I remember when you gave me the most beautiful butterflies,
And I couldn't fight them even if I tried.

I remember, I dunno,
I remember just wanting to be by your side,
No matter what the cost.

I remember everything you said to me.
Everything that literally made my heart flutter.

You once said we were perfect for each other.
But there was one fatal flaw.
I agree. Distance ruins everything.
No matter what, I know if I had been there,
If we had met in a place where we could be face to face,
We would've been something beautiful.

You once said you would marry me.
You even promised.
Now? Now I kinda find myself wishing you still wanted to marry me.
And not out of some selfish desire to never be alone,
But because I can just see a lifetime of happiness if I married you?

And that's really what I want.

I know we really don't stand a chance now.
Or ever, I guess, for that matter.
Because you're fighting off seeing me,
For whatever reason.

Maybe to ease either of our aching hearts when its time to part,
But I really don't care how many times I reopen the wound,
How many times I peel off the scar.

I really, truly believe
That I loved you
Maybe still do.

You'll always have a special place in my heart.
No matter how far we are from each other.
