My Time as Guardian
Amulet (part 2)
When I went back, I decided to grab Salga before I did any investigation, so that I would have someone familiar with the area. I went to the village--and of course the mountain elf guard attacked me. I bested the guard, and asked him where I could find Salga. He admitted that he knew, but wouldn't tell me, so I decided to resort to something else... (I was really frustrated at the time--I would not normally do something like this.) Using high magic, I temporarily stuck his mind to mine, forcing him to witness what I was doing. I opened up my mind to sense the thoughts of every living thing in the entire village--I'm used to it, although it still hurts, but the mountain elf I forced to put up with it wasn't. What he had felt brought him to his knees in tears. Now that I think back on it, I feel a bit guilty for that.

Anyway, I found where Salga was, and flew there. When I arrived in the general area, he attacked me from above.

Much of the battle I don't remember, but I remember some key observations I made. At first he attacked me with two double-sided swords, curved and decorated much like Pit's bow (Nintendo). But after a while, his weapons dissipated, and a mace appeared in his hand. The way he fought with that reminded me of Hawk Man or Hawk Girl.

At some point in the battle I found out that he was trying to prove his dominance of the sky. I responded to that by telling him that he needed his wings to fly, where I could fly simply with elemental power. His pride wouldn't allow him to back out of that challenge. He folded up his wings and fought using only his control over the air, and the battle very rapidly turned against him. When he realized that he would lose, he began using his wings again, but only for bursts of speed, using it combined with elemental powers.

In my mind, I could hear my angel dragon, Darin, contacting me telepathically. He knew what was going on, and he wanted to fight. I decided to let him have fun, so I got bellow Salga, who tried to use his altitude to his advantage. Darin warped above him and slammed into him, twisted him around, and roared into his face. I laughed and said "Who's master of the sky now?"

Salga was absolutely terrified, which Darin and I both found amusing, but we let him go, and he explained that he wanted to test himself by attacking me in the air. He believed himself to be the best fighter in the air.

I asked him about his weapons, and he said that his teacher had given him an amulet that allowed him to materialize things. The amulet had a magic that restricted him from using it unless he needed to. It was chained to the sleeve of his armor; although it didn't look like much, it was obviously powerful.

I was running out of time and had to be else-where, so I decided to investigate the woods later.
