When they go to Volos, he agrees to teach Drake, and they are there for two months where Drake learns to keep control of his own powers and where the feelings between Drake and Gavin begin to really grow. Because Drake already loves Gavin, and now Gavin's head is being influenced by that, and the poor thing thinks he might be totally messed up or something and he struggles with whether or not he's gay and what that even means. Poor dear. It's also where Drake confesses to Gavin about being responsible for killing his family. And it's where Gavin discovers his angel origins. At the end of the two months, Gavin and Drake have a dream of a man in white clothes with wings telling Gavin to come to the highest peek on the island. He and Drake go right away and there they meet the angel that is Gavin's father. It is when they are coming back down from the meeting that they find the cave of the old white dragon, Volos's sister Vollys.
