Discretely goes to Nora later in the night. "Nora? Can we talk?"
"No." without even looking
"-hugs the book she's holding- Please? It won't take long I promise."
"-sighs and turns- You have two minutes."
"Well I...-steps closer- I heard that you can't read and I thought maybe..."
"-cuts her off- Get out."
"-all in one breath- Oh Please listen! Nora, reading is so fun. I could teach you. No one would have to know. I'm simply sure you'll love it!"
"-stands- Why do you come here if your only reason is to torment me?"
"-quietly- because I care about you"
"Why on earth would you care about me? I've...taken everything from you! Everything!"
"-shyly- You're my friend"
Nora would blink and then respond stiffly "I've done nothing to earn your friendship... or anyone's."
AshleyandStuffShe'd step forward a little "Nora...you're a good friend. You've helped us look for the dragon stone, fought with us against monsters, you protect Viper and Elan all the time. You're our friend. You help us a lot and...and now I want to help you too."
AthenianMoonNora would swallow thickly and say "I don't need it..."
AshleyandStuffLia would look down at the floor sadly, but then nod. "Well, if you do ever change your mind....the offer is always open. Um...goodnight, Nora." and she'd start to leave to go to her own place to sleep.
AthenianMoonNora'd let her go, but then close her eyes and quietly go "Wait..." half-hoping Lia won't hear her and half-hoping she will.
AshleyandStuffLia would probably half hear, turn back and poke her head in just in case she did actually hear something.
AthenianMoonNora'd look up at her, then go "... Can you swear to me? That no one will.... ever know?"
AshleyandStuffLia would hesitate. "I can...promise I won't ever tell."
AthenianMoonNora'd take a deep breath, then look down, nod curtly, and then turn back to what she had been doing before.
AshleyandStuffLia would rush forward and warp her arms around Nora from behind, very happy she gets to teach her. "Here," and show her the book "I'll come back tomorrow night to show you the basics, but you can keep this one. It's my favorite.:
AthenianMoonNora'd snatch the book from her and then growl "I said you could teach me to read, it doesn't mean we're the best of friends."
AshleyandStuffLia would smile and hug her again, then practically skip off. "Goodnight!"
