I'm just sittin here in a daze,
Thinking about the simple days
I really wanna start writing short stories again
but I'm fearful they won't be what they used to be,
Or I won't be able to be as absorbed in them as I once was.

Back when I was writing stories, that was all I really had.
Things change for a reason, but this was something I loved.

I remember I wanted to be an author, an English major,
change literature for the better.

But I stopped writing forever ago and I already know my ability to string words together isn't nearly as exquisite as it used to be,
I miss being able to type up a beautiful paragraph that would make someone tear up. I miss having the ability to get under anyone's skin with my words.

It's been so long,
Can I do it again?
