Nocturne Ozkavosh
Appears Male - 4 Billion Years - Spectral Shadow Entity - Heterosexual - Right Hand to Nevermore

Role| Antagonist; Evil Chaotic Alignment

Name and Aliases| Nothing is known about Nocturne's name and origin beyond that.

Birth Information| Nocturne was spawned spontaneously when Nevermore first learned to dream, creating the Spectre (Nightmare Realm).

Appearance| Nocturne has no actual "skin", but is rather a pitch black being with no skin pigmentation beyond that. It has no lower half, merely a wisp of what seems like a shadow tail that keeps it afloat in air. If it had feet, it'd stand 6'0", but it merely floats at the height of 5'8". Its weight is unknown due to it being another type of shadow entity. Nocturne's appearance has changed since its original debut within the mind of Nevermore. Since its physical release into the earthly realm, it has tried to become more human-like in terms of anatomy, but failed to do so to the bottom half of its body. From the waist up, however, if its "skin" pigmentation is looked past, it is built like a well built assassin, primarily focusing on upper and core body strength seeing as it has nothing else to focus on. It wears a hooded coat of sorts that falls in the back, but reveals much of its front portion. The coat itself is primarily black with red and white details, a thin layer of what seems like plate mail underneath it all. The hood casts a shadow over its face, making its glaring red eyes, converted from the bright, more obvious blue eyes, seem dim. It does not have a mouth, but yet it is able to speak. Beneath the head, it has no "hair", merely a "tattoo" of sorts, tribal looking if you may. The coat's sleeves have been tattered off by Nocturne itself in order to make room for a physical adjustment to its arsenal. Instead of the old, large blades that extended from the sides of its arms, it has converted them to three vorpal blades that it keeps sheathed on its back. [Art to be acquired later]

Clothing| Black hooded coat with red and white details.

Personality| Nocturne is relatively quiet, speaking with actions more so than words, and those actions usually sound out bloodshed. It believes those who live in this tangible world are "flames to be blotted out." [Voice Sample]

Likes and Dislikes| Bloodshed, dark places/shadows, spooking the s**t out of people. It is loyal to its "father" and will not tolerate challenges to Nevermore's authority, unless it sees that Nevermore deserves it.

Hobbies/Habits| Shedding blood wherever it goes, spooking Nevermore

Arsenal| Nocturne carries three vorpal blades on its back, each with a different sharpening (Smooth, serrated, and hybrid).

Special Abilities and/or Skills| Nocturne's abilities range in utility and damage type:

Physical Abilities:
Umbra Blades: A passive ability, this ability allows Nocturne to slash an opponent multiple times as it spins 360 Degrees with two of its three vorpal blades, allowing it to hit multiple targets. When this occurs, Nocturne is healed for a small amount, draining the life of its target(s). This can only occur once every minute. The more targets Nocturne hits with Umbra Blades, the more it is healed for.
Dusk Bringer: Nocturne slashes at the ground with one of its blades, sending a damaging trail of shadow essence along the ground in a straight line. Those hit by this ability are damaged for a moderate amount and will have this trail stick to them for a short time before it fades away, meaning that Nocturne can use the trail to track the target wherever it goes for a short while. While Nocturne is on this trail, it is granted additional physical power and agility. This ability costs a moderate amount of mana and is one of Nocturne's main sources of damage besides its melee attacks.

Magic Abilities:
Shroud of Darkness: Passively, this ability grants Nocturne attack speed so long as it remains on its Dusk Bringer trail. When actively used, Nocturne casts a spellshield that absorbs one ability before going on cooldown. If the shield is broken, Nocturne is granted the attack speed passive even if off of a Dusk Bringer trail. If Nocturne is on a Dusk Bringer trail, the attack speed bonus is doubled. This ability costs a moderate amount of mana and has a minor cooldown. While on cooldown, the passive portion still takes full effect.
Unspeakable Horror: Nocturne leashes its shadowy essence onto the victim's head, planting a nightmare into their mind over the course of 10 seconds. If this leash is not broken (done so by moving away quickly, or by blinking away), the target will become feared for a short duration, unable to cast spells, attack or control its movement. If the leash is broken, the ability immediately goes on cooldown. On success, it also goes on cooldown. This ability has a minor cooldown.

Signature Ability:
Paranoia/: Nocturne casts a dark shadow of terror amongst the area, reducing everyone's and everything's vision to a minimum. While this shadow pursues, Nocturne is able to cast this ability again to dash a large distance to its target, dealing a large amount of damage on impact. This ability has a relatively large cost of mana and has a moderate cooldown.

Flaws and/or Fears| Nocturne is attached to Nevermore, meaning it cannot move too far from Nevermore before it is returned to the Spectre.

General Education| N/A

Religious Beliefs| Nocturne, being a spawn of Nevermore's twisted imagination, believes only in helping Nevermore achieve its goal in hopes of receiving some sort of reward as well.

Family and Relationships| Essentially Nevermore's "son", in a sense; Secondary Character

Origin and History| It is believed that there is only one true, pure shadow entity due to most other shadow based creatures are beings and not pure essences of shadow. Nevermore would gladly accept this theory if it had not been for its accidentally perfect spawn. You see, as Nevermore continued to develop in knowledge and power, it experimented with the mind, eventually forcing itself to begin having "dreams", as it would call them. Whenever Nevermore "slept", more or less a mesmerized state of unconsciousness to help it recover mana and the such, it began to have lucid "dreams", though most would actually call them nightmares. Nevermore began to imagine an entity much like itself within these "dreams", but more violent in nature, seeking bloodshed more than souls.

As time went on and Nevermore continued to have these "dreams" about said entity, the imagined entity began to manifest itself as it drew power from Nevermore's great abundance. In its "dream realm", known as the Spectral Realm, it formed itself into a fierce assassin-like slaughterer. This was the birth of Nocturne, a nightmare which had manifested itself into a physical form. Nocturne continued to live within its Spectral domain, feeding off of the imagined victims of Nevermore and drawing life essence from Nevermore's collected souls as to keep itself alive. This could essentially be seen as a "womb" of sorts, though it all lay within the mind of Nevermore.

Time continued to pass, and Nocturne continued to nurture itself from within Nevermore's mind. Surely Nocturne could be seen as a parasite and could easily be wiped from Nevermore's mind, but Nevermore had other plans. Upon the re-arrival of Nevermore to Earth, a plan was unfolded. Upon Nevermore's emergence from its meteorite, Nocturne was released from Nevermore's mind, able to travel freely from the Spectral Realm and amongst the human world. Unfortunately, it would take some time before Nocturne could manifest itself into an Earthly form, so it remained a shadowy wisp which followed Nevermore, assisting in its mission. Nevermore was fond of Nocturne, treating it like a "son" of sorts, feeding it souls and allowing it the pleasure of invading human minds to kill them in their sleep and collect their souls without notice.

With the evident case of Nevermore and Nocturne becoming too obvious of a pair to recognize in the human public, they needed to disguise themselves. Nevermore seemed to have no issue, taking on the form of a young adult male. Nocturne attempted to do the same, but it failed miserably as it was unable to form its lower half into legs, rather forming it into a shadowy wisp-tail that kept it afloat. Nevermore felt some pity in that it wouldn't be able to keep Nocturne out in public if its form was kept like this, so Nevermore agreed to keep Nocturne sheltered within its mind, in the Spectral Realm. Though Nocturne finds this place comfortable, it still wishes it could roam as Nevermore does, always wanting to taste victims' fear. Fortunately, Nevermore allows Nocturne to roam within a specific radius of it before it is leashed back into the Spectral Realm. These two have collectively slaughtered and sacrificed many to Nevermore's cause. Nocturne has no issue with this, for if Nevermore is able to grow in power, perhaps maybe there is something in return for remaining loyal to its "father".
