Zelda-chan, behind the controller
A place for my gaming experiences, mostly. Please be warned that spoilers may follow in listings. It may not be updated often since I'm a full-time college student. I tend to play RPGs, but I've dabbled in the other genres. Hopefully this'll be neat
Tales of Phantasia? Check!
I did it! I beat Tales of Phantasia... finally. Playing it made me really want to play Tales of Symphonia, though. It is on my list, so I will get to it. I'll probably end up playing it twice, too, since we plan on getting the HD remake coming out next year.

Impressions? Well, there were times when the game got rather tedious. That might also be because I had it on battle level 2 the whole game. I have been terribly spoiled by games that let you save anywhere. I was really desperate for a save point in a few dungeons. No rage quitting, but it got pretty darn close a few times. Flame Tower, you were a pain.

I was disappointed that titles didn't do anything. I was also mad at myself for not realizing I should be buying everything at least once if I want to fill my collection book. I think I was only missing 5 things at the end, and some of them were ? items, so... yeah. However, the new game+ carries over the collection book and monster book, so I can always try again.

I enjoyed the game, for the most part. The supporting character AI wasn't always very good. My husband would sometimes pass by and wonder if I had said something to him when I was actually muttering something to my dear party. Cress would run back at weird times. Mint would just hang out instead of heal. Sometimes she'd run up and hit a monster with her staff. Arche would float around, watching the party take on the enemy. Claus would use Undine on enemies that were healed by water and other variants of that same issue. Fun times.

It was still a fun game. I had fun collecting treasure, cooking meals, flying around on the tech birds, and even grinding. There wasn't too much grinding. Having a good skills setup really made a difference. The arena made that pretty clear.

Gah, talk of an arena makes me want to play Star Ocean 2. Please say I'm not the only one who kept thinking, "Air Slash!" each time Cress would use Demon Fang.

Well, there are still a number of games on my Summer Hit List (of Justice!). We'll see how many I'll actually get crossed off my list (as well as how many will get added. Hello, Steam Summer Sale!). I have a feeling we may end up with a list for each season. sweatdrop Also, my husband recently got the new Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection. As such, he has been using the TV. So, I will probably have to do my console gaming when he is at work. We can do this! I'll let you know how it goes. Take care!
