Felix Drysii
Felix eventually settled down, snuggling deeply in her sleeping bag, a short distance away from Maeve- close enough to be of assistance, far enough away that neither felt weirded out. However, while Maeve put her hair down, Fey was in the process of braiding her's, wary of sand-spiders nesting in her mane during the night. Spinning webs, having dance-parties and orgies... laying eggs in her ears...
...Some of her mother's 'jokes' would never cease to be nightmare-fuel.
Still, she looked up, as Maeve instructed her to, and was struck by the absolute beauty of it all.
Her jaw slackened, her eyes widened, and she was left to stare into the heavenly bodies for what felt like an eternity. Small, twinkling lights of various hues against a blue and purple-hued backdrop, with green and yellow- even pink washes of what appeared to be 'space dust' spread out- billowing across the galaxy- or perhaps hundreds of thousands of galaxies...
...Or maybe just two- she never really paid that much attention in science class- the pretty pictures (and gorgeous Arabic teacher with the bright green eyes) were all that she had been interested in.
It was truly awe-inspiring, the vastness of space, the smallness of them, the fragility of the organic spaceship on which they rode through the cosmos....
Perhaps she should stay away from cactus juice after all...
