Research *rose*
Having found none of her friends at the WTGR, rose wandered Barton Town until she found something that might help her. She walked quietly into the library. Since it was only just past lunch time, the place was open and quiet.
Rose did a search in the database for blood anomolies- looking for her explanation. The results brought up hundreds of books. Limiting the search to magic creature related anomolies reduced her list to about three dozen candidates. She printed the list up, and wandered over to a section of the vast library where most of these books seemed to be.
She gathered about four or five books at a time, taking them back to an empty table. She set them down to her left, and picked one up. Skimming the chapter lists, she found the related chapter and skimmed it. Nothing useful there. So she slid the book to the far end of the table.
And so it went for a few hours; collecting books, then weeding them out. A few had mention of things that, though they were beyond her comprehension in their thick medical terminology, seemed insightful and were worth a thorough reading. These she sat in the chair next to her.
In the end, she had acquired five books that she thought she would read. But by now, she was getting hungry again, and decided to check them out. That way she could take notes, or, whatever.
Rose left the discarded books scattered across the library table, and hefted the five thick volumes into her arms. She walked steadily to the librarian's counter, and set them down as softly as she could- but even then the thud was loud.
The librarian, a young woman with brown hair and glasses, smiled up at her as Rose handed her her library card.. She ran it through the computer, and looked up at Rose.
"Checking these out?" she asked.
Rose nodded. "Yes, please."
"Okay, then. We finally got the book you had on reserve in; did you want to check that out, too?" she asked.
Rose's puzzled expression prompted the librarian to elaborate.
"Mixed Magical Creatures, by Lilah McGreen?" she asked Rose courteously.
"Oh!" Rose said, still puzzled but now entusiastic. "Yes, that one. Yes, I'd love to!" she said, trying now to calm her enthusiasm.
The librarian left the counter and walked through a door with the word 'Restricted' above it.
Rose's heart was in her throat. She hadn't put a book on reserve. But whoever had knew a lot about her. More than she did, maybe. She didn't even know her mother had ever published a book.
The librarian came back with a tan hardback book of only about two hundred pages; thin when compared with the volumes Rose had dragged to the counter. The librarian scanned them all out, and Rose carefully gathered them into her arms.
"Thank you." Rose said, though the librarian probably never understood how deeply Rose had meant it.
Hurrying back to the WTGR (it was either that or home, and she was too impatient for that) Rose dumped the thick volumes on the floor next to her, and curled up with 'Mixed Magical Creatures', and wiped her eyes as she read the dedication, "To My Betrothed, Arxus Chiielenord."
She knew, then, that this was no coincidence. Her mother, not someone with the same name, had written this book. And dedicated it to her father.

That's lovely.

Rose, if you need a place to stay, you can stay at my house. I hate to see you stuck in the WTGR, with no other place to stay....
