Reading can lead to confusion. *rose*
Rose blinked her weary eyes for the 8th time, trying to focus them. Realizing she'd been reading for hours straight, she got up (still holding the book) and went to get a cup of water. She poured water into a mug (what, no cups around here? coffee addicted freaks)[in the WTGR, if you didn't already know] and took a few sips. Then she dunked in her finger, and let a few drops fall into each of her eyes. That helped with the blinking, and her eyes felt a bit better. She dumped out the rest of the water, and started to walk back toward the corner. She back and knees ached just looking at it.
Remembering Chazu had offered his place, but that she didn't know where it was, rose instead went to go find Dragon. She'd know where it was.
Rose walked to Dragon's house, only to find a black and charred ruin.
"Ummm. Not good." she said quietly, as if something evil might linger in the area.
She quickly turned and ran in the opposite direction. She started to get an eeire feeling, and became frantic. She weaved in and through bunches of trees, around homes, and, soon, became very lost indeed.
Finally shaking off the worst of the feeling of being watched and/or followed, Rose stopped under a small grove of trees near some buildings. A large stone sat in the middle of it, as if it had been placed there. Rose sat on the rock, trying to catch her breath. Kipper, Olay! Tuft and Niko all settled down next to her under the shade, and began to drift off. Trying to calm herself, Rose pulled out her book again. It was very hard to understand. She was not taught much about other magical creatures, and the book seemed very cryptic, mentioning how certain species like centuars were purebred centuars, and not half-human half horse like some people supposed, and other misconceptions.
Rose got annoyed, as this was of no interest to her. She skipped to the next chapter, titled, "Mixed Species, and How They Came To Be Such"

A friend of mine is half demon, half red fox-neko. This is not so much of an unusual pairing, and is one of the easiest to understand. Demons, who are interested in themselves and things relative to themselves, tend to take whatever they like, and do whatever they please. Most demon/neko mixes result from a Male Demon having relations with an attractive female neko (cat, fox, or other), and a child being the end result. Thankfully, these beings are usually raised by the neko, and therefore have pleasant attitudes and are good and civil. However, as in the case of my friend, his mother was a demon, and his father the red fox-neko. Apparently, his charms were irresistable to the demon, who had pretended no magical heritage whatsoever. They actually spent some time together, but he found out about her identity. She then dissappeared, and a few months later, the Red fox found a baby on his doorstep, with a single word written on a red paper, "Yours". Therefore, this baby was raised by his father, who, though he still raised the child lovingly, taught his son what he could of his demon powers, so that he could keep his full magical potential, and protect himself in the world.
Therefore, though demons do occasionally have children outside their own race, it seems those children are almost always discarded by the demons, and raised by the other species. This seems to be a good thing for the child.

Rose stopped, and reread the passage. There was something familiar about it. And then it hit her. She had met her paternal grandfather once, a jovial man with red hair. He didn't seem to have a tail, but he wore a large, long red coat. And when Rose had asked about her grandmother, he had said that she had not been around for decades, and that such things were best forgotten. Her Dad cried when her Grandfather passed away some years back, before her mother had passed away.
Rose couldn't help but wonder if this was the story of her father. It might help explain why she now had a tail, and that, at least, answered some questions. Though, of course, it only brought up more.
Determined to try to get answers, Rose got up. She changed her outfit (she loved being able to do that; snap! and her clothes could change) and left her pets where they were, asleep.
She remembered she was lost, and her brows furrowed. Still, she set off, knowing her pets would find her, and that, hopefully, she would find Chazu.

Rose is lost. But she doesn't know where Chazu lives anyways.
Eventually, she will literally bump into his house.
