Today is Friday and I finally feel relaxed. Well, maybe not completely relaxed but as close as I am going to get. My favorite time of the year is finally here! It's WINTER! I love the weather, the feeling, the events, the places I get to go, the traditions, everything possible about winter. I love the way the sky gets that crisp sort of blue that makes every branch on the twisting, leafless trees seem sharper. I love it when my breath forms small clouds when I walk home from school.
I love the possibility of snow and being able to go outside and see the dogs romping around in it, rolling in it and digging to get to the grass. I love the way the house feels when we come back inside with red cheeks;all warm, and how we will start the fire and sit under piles of blankets in front of it with mugs of hot cocoa in our hands.
But, out of all these things, my favorite thing in winter is CHRISTMAS!! Christmas songs playing everywhere in the stores when you shop for presents. Wreaths of holly are put on the front doors and, at night, you can see Christmas trees all lit up in the windows of passing houses with piles of presents underneath them. I really want to rave on about Christmas Eve and Christmas day, but that will have to wait until a later time. What have you learned about me from this post? Well, I think it's pretty obvious.
