It is said that those born into a profession live and breathe its ideals. From infancy, Mugon was steeped in the many influences of the scholarly arts. By the time he could walk he was tutored in the use of instruments, in the stroke of the brush, the undulation of song and dance. By the time he reached his blossoming years, he was one of the most proficient swordsmen on the island. His unparalleled skill was masked behind an unwillingness to draw his blade, however. The boy quickly took more to the comfort of arts aside from martial pursuit.
In his formative years, he was groomed to become the head of the faction, a fact he did not initially take a liking to. This, however, only reinforced the counsel's point; concluding that those least willing to lead often became the best in the role. In the end, he rapidly grew into the idea. What better opportunity is there to take in all that this world has to teach?
As a full grown man, Mugon has worked diligently to keep the Scholars influential whilst remaining set aside from the conflict plaguing the rest of the world. But even he on his island can see the shadow growing over the land. His hand will be forced sooner or later. With his famed erhu in one hand, an ornate fan clasped in the other, he waits simply for the coming storm.

[→]Ability: Muhyōjō: (Lit: Impassive) An enhancement of focus that allows the user to divine even the slightest of details in everything around them. The user gains unprecedented spatial awareness and control, stressing each of the five senses to far beyond the natural limit. This allows for inhumanly fast reaction time and sensory abilities. A practitioner experiences vastly enhanced speed, the ability to detect others by aura and/or chakra without the use of sight and boosted reaction time. (The number of points within the Spirit stat is added to the Dexterity stat at the cost of one Breath per post active)
-- An enhanced and custom use of the skill allows the user to focus every ounce of their concentration on sheer defense as opposed to sensory ability and reaction speed. The user learns to gird themselves against an unprecedented amount of pain or trauma. What would normally be the tensing of the body on a muscular scale turns into a natural defense that allegedly allows the user to resist physical impacts leagues beyond what a human could normally withstand. (The number of points within the Spirit stat is added to the Brawn stat at the cost of one Breath per post active)
A user can combine these two in equal measure, but at the cost of three points of Breath per post.
