Two interesting things happened the other day in Biometrics class. First off, I think I made a friend. Her name is Dottie. I happened to choose a seat next to her, and she asked to borrow a pencil. Later, we paired up for a lab assignment. We had to find a way to speed up the growth of a bean sprout. It wasn’t easy to do, particularly because we kept making each other laugh. Before long everything was funny, from the sprouts we managed to destroy, to the bald spot on Mr. Arnet’s head.

The other thing that happened today was seeing that cute guy from meditation class. He’s in my Biometrics class too. I don’t know why I didn’t notice that before. Anyway, it was a pleasant surprise.

After class, Dottie and I went to lunch together. Again, we couldn’t stop laughing. Dottie pointed out that the cheese stromboli looked an awful lot like a science fiction creature she once saw. She was right. I’d seen the same show. Dottie also made me a little headband with cat ears out of some paper. I think I'll wear it around for a while. We had a great time until I had to leave for Physics class. For the first time since coming here, I wasn’t feeling homesick. biggrin
