There is two parts to this rant:
Part one: SMELLY PEOPLE! Ok. this part comes from real life at my work. In our geographic area, we get a lot of foreigners. ok.. not too much wrong with that... Now, i'm about to dive into some ranting that could potentially offend some people. If you are a person who falls into one of this type of thing i'm about to write about... then i compel you to add comments and try to help me find understanding as to maybe how their culture or lifestyles produce these affects and whatnot. becuase i really am interested to know more.. but.. there are two types of smelly people there. the arab people who don't bath properly... i mean. it's not just that strong boulion cube smell that a lot of indian people have on them all the time. it's really more of a body odor smell.. but they'll come in wreaking with odor. and i mean.. you can't smell yourself? hmm... i mean. i do understand in the middle east, women aren't really esteemed very high and are only there to serve their husbands and families. ok... well, don't you think you'd serve your husband better by beign clean? by smelling nice and feminine and giving him pleasure to be around you just because you smell good? aromatherapy is great... and likewise with the aromatherapy thing... someone subjected to bad smells gives their bodies side affects too..
ok. so there are the body odor women. now ... there is this other group.. and the first group is easy to address because it smells mostly like an issue of them just needing better bodily hiegeine. but.. now this second group, they wreak!!! and it's not body odor... but it's like over cooked chicken noodle soup... or a pot of melted boulion cubes! omg... it smells so bad!!! gonk There was this family in my store last night.. and they kept going everywhere i went.. and you couldn't walk anywhere they had been for the last five minutes because their pugnent smell lingered... gonk crying omg... it's so bad that it makes you gag. seriously... and a lot of them smell like that.. some not as bad as the family last night.. but many do still smell fairly strong. most of us at the store who've been trying to figure it out for over a year have settled into an assumption it must be what they eat.... or some spices/oils they use when cookng... but seriously... i mean. when they return toys or clothes.. their smell gets on that stuff even. if they touch anything.. that smell gets into the item. I hate when they return clothes... because those clothes are essentially unsellable unless we could effectively air them out.. but, there's no way for us to do it enough to make them sellable. who's gonna want to buy that smelling like that???? xp
Jeez... people, wake up! you are not living in a world by yourself. have some consideration for hte noses of people who have to coexist with you!
ok.. now onto
Rant 2. ILLITERATE GAIANS...... stare stressed
Ok.. there was this nice girl who had a thread in the art freebies forums... she wasn't giving out free art. she had drawn some art and was offering to let others color her art for free...
mad but.. oh no.. stupid stupid people who can't freaking read!!! they all harrass her and bombard her with requests to draw them till she no longer wants to keep that thread open. She's closing it up now; thank you very much stupid people who can't freaking read the whole title.. it didn't read "free lineart"
it read "free lineart to color" stupid gaians... not everyone mind you. but, people on gaia can be so ridiculously ignorant.. it boggles the mind... i see it at my charity too. i see it in other charities... as soon as people think they can get something for free.. they act like they've lost all their good sense... and for what? a small little item? or one piece of art? for the love of all things good on this website.. don't you people realize those attitudes is what is ruining this site? don't you guys ever think about anyone but your own selfishness and greed? don't you guys realize that other people are trying to enjoy themselves too??? I mean. I lurk in the free art forum a lot... but, most of the time i don't bother sticking around to actually get anything. and i always feel bad because it happens in almost every thread in there... people just rush in like waves and drown the artists who were willing to do it for free.. and then people wonder why all the artists only want to stick to R&C charging a buttload for their work.. that buttload of money keeps the stupid people out... that's why. and it sucks because people like me who aren't rich can't afford it..
i see that same bs at my charity... people who have gaia accounts.. but are setting up mules. and rather then invest their own money into their mule or do fundraisers like i did to get money for my charity... they come to our charity applying for freebies... scream stressed stare i swear... it pisses me off to no end. i invested A LOT of my own personal gold for the first several months footprints was open... and a few close friends of mine would invest a little as well.. or, i get older gaians who like to try teh "i was hacked" ploy just to get a free pair fo shoes that cost no more than 1k... 1k isn't really THAT hard to get... for a newbie: maybe... but for someone who's been around for a while.. come on... that kind of behavior is what drives a lot of the people who used to own magnificent charities to close up... because the people who own these charities just get worn out and overworked... their souls cannot reconcile the rampant and blatant disrespect that goes on in there. When you take your own personal time to structure a shop that is nice and flowing... to try and spend your time to help other people have a more enjoyable gaia experience... and what do they want to give you for your time? not even finish reading the entire first post at least.. they don't post in the forms you write up for them.. i mean. you can have it all laid out for them. all they have to do is read and follow directions. but, most of them can't even do that.. but, they feel so entitled for you to donate to them.. and oh, i better not forget. YOU BETTER DO IT RIGHT AWAY! OR THEY'LL NEVER COME BACK EVER AGAIN CUZ YOU'RE SUCH A MEANIE! geez.. scream stressed I mean.. people don't write up four or five posts worth of stuff just for the glory of doing it.
There is a such thing as manners. Learn them and use them; and you'll get a lot farther on gaia. To tell the truth, a lot of people who leave gaia do so because of what i've just been going on about. they just feel so vexed by it all... i mean. while the glitches and bugs are annoying... most of us still enjoy gaia and want to be part of the community.. but the community keeps getting corroded and corrupted by the vast majority of people who don't give a rat's a** about the communtiy we work so hard to make fun, friendly, and accepting.

thank you to anyone who perseveres and endures my novel of rants about this stuff... it's just really been vexing me for a while. when will enough ever be enough for this people?
