The Insane Ramblings of Rin
A periodical about the happenings of my life, what’s new in my stories, upcoming writing projects in the next few months, my latest injuries, and my never ending rant on the guppies with the digitals. Tourists *shiver* they frighten me.
Vicodin, Gangsters, and Prohibition.
I paved a good portion of the rode with my hide two weeks ago. I skid my bike a few yards about a mile down the rode from my work. My right side is covered with bruises and scrapes raw and bright, slashing downward towards my chest and over my shoulder to cap my upper arm. I actually used my own injuries as inspiration for what Inuyasha looks like in Free Game, purple and black blended together to smear over green like mold colonizing a decaying body. *nods* that’s what it looks like. It’s so gross yet so cool!

My leg and side didn't get much damage, just some minor purplish bruises and scrapes. But my poor bike needed so many repairs.

The doc says I’m lucky I wear a full face helmet or I might have lost half my face. Unfortunately I was wearing my favorite helmet and cracked the thing. Also I’m supposed to feel lucky I didn’t dislocate my shoulder on impact. I hit my shoulder first when we first landed then tore my whole right side, leg, thigh, ribs and arm, when I skid several yards.

Well my arms not hurting as much anymore, though for some unfathomable reason my subconscious decided I should sleep on my right side Friday night and I woke up in agony Saturday morning with an eight hour drive to Lake Havasu, Arizona for my uncle’s 60th birthday ahead of me. I’m back to my loathing of all painkillers so I refused the Vicodin, wish I could just throw the damned bottle away but then I would probably be forced to get a new one. Best to just leave it half full in the damn medicine cabinet for the next month or so, or until everybody forgets that I’m supposed to be taking the damn thing.

I hate the drowsy feeling that always comes with each dose. I’ll deal with the pain, What I can’t deal with is not being able to make it the goddamn bathroom without passing out.

I haven’t written anything in the past few days and it’s annoying me. I want to write a new chapter to Shade, and about fifteen new pages to Free Game, and finish the Blood series and update the Little Red story that I haven’t even thought about. I’m contemplating turning Deadly Challenge into a fan comic. I’m not all too good with comics but it’ll be nice to try something new. Also I like how the character sketches are coming out. I adore the pic of Sesshoumaru with a Tommy gun. The black pin stripped suit is a major plus ^^.

I’m basing it in the 1920s during the Jazz age and the 13 years of prohibition. I’ve always had a soft spot for the roaring twenties ever since AP US history in 10th grade and the original gangsters were, in my opinion, the truest bad guys. Thus my deep distaste for the gangsters of nowadays. No class, none at all. Sheesh, wish I lived back when the guys to be feared dressed in fancy suits and awesome hats and carried around big sub-machine guns rather than Glocks and SIG Suers, not that they aren’t still deadly…just…a Tommy gun, rifle and the good old fashion pistol have a bit more meaning to me. I’d rather stare down the barrel of a submachine gun than be shot in the back of the head by a street thug whose only interest in killing me is my shoes.

On a less violent topic if you know some awesome sources for information on bootlegging (liquor smuggling) in the prohibition era and such feel free to send me a link or drop some neat little facts.

Google-ing (not sure how to word that, is it even a word?!) this crap isn’t getting me very far. I can tell you one thing, I can get a couple Gangster and Flapper costumes for Halloween for about fifty bucks on various sites. And some of those source sites have got to fix their links.
