I’m sitting here watching you
So many things I want to tell
So many questions I want to ask
These thoughts turn into memory
As my life slowly slips away
Into the darkness or the light
Only God can tell which way

Many dream they will never die
Or if they do there’ll be more
Many look into the eyes of evil
And turn away just in time
You never think it will happen to you
Until that one lonesome day

The rain beats down upon the earth
Flooding massive cities
The time you thought you’d never face
Becomes the end of your life long chase
So many people left behind
You thought they would always come

Then one day as the clouds clear
You see the truth looking down on you
As you step inside reaching for the dusty Bible
You notice a cross necklace on the stand beside you
The Bible fell from your hands
And when you looked down
A verse was highlighted and it read: John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that he gave
His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish but have everlasting life.”
