Age difference. It kills a lot of relationships, or at least from what I've seen.
'Back in the day' it apparently didn't make a huge impact like it does now days. Because now it's just like: If a girl dates a guy younger then her, she desperate. If a guy dates an older woman he's a 'lucky b*****d' to his friends. If a girl dates a guy older then her, she's a slut(or jail bait, depending on the exact age). If a guy dates a girl younger then him, he's trying to make his friends think he's still got 'it' (or he's going to jail, again depending on the exact age).
Yes, there is a meaning to all this 'blah blah'. I've just been broken up with over 9 years. Yes, I was dumped because I was nine years younger then my...well you couldn't have called him my boyfriend because we weren't all that serious, but still. He broke up with me saying "If we get too involved I'll just be holding you back from getting on with you life. You're only, no sorry, almost twenty years old, you have so much more to live for then to settle down so young with someone m age."
Then that was it. It was over. With a handshake he was out the door, and I was standing there like "WTH?".
Well at least her had the balls to do it in person, rather then another Ex who sent me away then broke up with me in a ******** email. But that, is another story.
Later that day I found out from his sister, who is my age, that he was uncomfortable with the age difference, and that his friends pushed him to do it.
Fun...
Oh yes I'm pissed. Not so much hurt because it wasn't 'real' relationship, and the was no physical interaction between us, if you know what I mean. But yeah, I'm very pissed, and he know too. He's been hiding from me. Good let him hide. I'll find him eventually. He's got to go to work sometime...
But seriously though, I just want to b***h him out for lying to me...b*****d stare

So why is age so much of an issue? I believe that if two people are compatible, enjoy each other's company, and are truly drawn to the other, then what the hell? Go for it. Doesn't matter if the two people are several years apart, or if they are the same age. Love is love people. Age shouldn't put a stop to it.
