“The Love With Pain”: Eyes of the Masquerade (Part 5)
Eyes of the Masquerade:

Lucis gently walked down the spiraling stairs, her long white gown trailing a bit behind her. Her mask was beautiful, a diamond edging to a pearl white mold, the eyes shaped by gold swirls. She looked at all the guests, who had already seemed to be enjoying themselves as the orchestra played a merry piece of music. She smiled, her pink lips were now silver from her lipstick. She continued to walk down the steps until she reached the bottom, where a crowd of men scurried to her.

One by one they asked for a dance. She wasn't satisfied, her eye had caught one mans, but as a man stepped in front of her view she didn't see him anymore. She quickly tilted her head to the side, trying to see behind the man, to where the other had been, only a girl was standing there, in a beautiful blue mask.

She whispered lightly," I remembered those eyes." None could hear her as the music was so loud, and she silently slipped her hand that was covered by long white gloves, into a mans. His mask was that of fire, or so it seemed, his brown hair swayed with his movements and his blue eyes looked into hers. They were like deep oceans, hidden beneath the fire like mask.

She smiled as he bowed and she curtsied, starting the dance. Her black hair flowed behind her as she moved with the man. She silently whispered in his ear," You haven't given me a name to call you by, sir."

He looked at her, and slightly smiled as he whispered back," It's Furis." His smile turned a bit wicked, but quickly went back to normal. She watched him carefully, he did seem the cutest of the guys there, and by the way his mask was, probably the richest, she had picked well for the first dance.

He wore a deep crimson rose in the pocket of his suit jacket. He wore black gloves, and his whole suit was black, besides the white shirt underneath the jacket. Once the music stop, she stopped and curtsied," Nice to meet you, Furis."

" It was but all my pleasure," he said as his hand went around her waist, swiftly pulling her into his arms. He was smooth, she had to give him that. She silently looked to the side, the same man as before, looking directly at her as she looked back, and for a glimpse their eyes connected until he turned and disappeared into the garden.

Lucis looked back at Furis," As I said, it was nice to meet you." She gave off a slight smile before she moved out of his embrace and silently, but quickly, walked out to the patio of the garden. It was a lovely night, a full moon gave off a brilliant moonlit glow. She walked down the stone steps to a graveled pathway. She walked along it, stopping at a fountain.

The water glowed with the reflection of the moon. Lucis looked in the water, her pale reflection looking back. It was quiet outside and she felt quite content, thinking of matters. She reached under her glove, where she had been keeping the note, she had yet to read. She wondered if she should open it or not, wondering with curiosity what was written inside.

A hand in a white glove reached for the note, only to have her slip it back under her glove quickly as she looked up. Her eyes met his, looking into them, starring. Her hand moved gently, slipping into his hand as he pulled her up to stand in front of her.

" Lovely night?" He looked at her, as if he had known her all her life.

She shook her head as she had been dazed by his appearance and answered," I believe it is," she looked down. His hand went to her chin, making her look up, she finally noticed the mask he was wearing, it was what looked like the bright moon above them at that moment. She thought it was beautiful, too beautiful to be part of this world.

" Come," he said, somewhat happily," Dance with me in the moonlight." He kissed her cheek, as his hand that was at her chin was placed on the bottom of her back, pulling her closer to him. She moved her feet with his and they danced on gravel, till they got to the stone room. A room that would normally be used to sit and look at the garden in quiet contemplation. They danced in a circle, her eyes not leaving his, and his not leaving hers.

She moved back, out of his arms, stopping the dance. " I know those eyes!" She said this as if it was a bad thing. He blinked and stepped close to her, moving his hand under her chin, he quickly slipped a small kiss upon her lips before retreating swiftly into the darkness.

She took a seat, her finger to her lips as she swooned over the mysterious man. Soon Furis entered the room," There you are, you know many are looking for you?" He sat next to her and moved a hand around her neck, moving her black hair behind her shoulders.

"Oh. . . They missed me? I didn't think anyone would," she quickly stood up, not wanting him to touch her, she found him somewhat repulsive now.

He came up behind her, placing his hand on her hip, pushing her with his arm as he walked," Please, let me escort you back. You don't know what lingers in the night, especially on a full moon."
