"The Love With Pain":Fathers Hate is Daughters Love (Part7)
Fathers Hate is Daughters Love:

Lucis slipped out of bed, it was cold compared to being underneath the sheets that had encircled her comfort. Her soft, warm feet hit the cold, hard floor. Another knock came on the door downstairs as she let out a sigh, slipping on some sweats and a loose shirt, not bothering to do anything else as she slipped out of the room and walked down the stairs to the door.

Another knock echoed through the main hall. It was a harder knock then before, someone sure was anxious. She continued walking to the door as she opened it gently, only to be surprised by her father. He looked at her and shook his head at the way she was dressed and how messy her hair was.

" It looks like you just got out of bed dear!" He pushed himself through the door placing his bags by the side of his feet with a thud. " Great mansion though, where's my room?"

She had forgotten her father was to stay with her through the holiday, it was an old tradition they had, since this was the only break her father really had from hunting vampires. He suddenly sniffed the air as he spoke once more," I smell a hint of a vampire in the air."

Lucis was quick to speak," I had the introduction masquerade, seems like a vampire tried to crash it. Don't worry, he didn't know what hit him." Literally, she thought without hesitation.

She picked up his bags as he smiled, completely believing her as he had trained her well. She moved him down a hallway that was through a small door from the ballroom. She opened up the last door in the hallway, a bright window was on the opposite side of the door as light was filling the room.

" It has a section for your weapons if. . ." Her sentence was cut off by this small annoying beeping sound. Her father reached for his waist, taking out a small walkie-talkie like object, pressing a button and talking.

" She's fine, you shouldn't worry. . . No, you can't meet her yet. . . Don't tell me what to do!" He hung up and looked at Lucis.

" Oh please dad, don't say you are setting me up with one of your little helpful vampire hunters again!" She rolled her eyes, the last date her dad made her go on turned out horrible, the guy was a complete nerd and didn't even stop talking about vampires and how he kicked their a**. Lucis couldn't take it, she was a better fighter than any of those guys.

" Now, why would I do that?" He had a spark underneath his eyes as he asked this. He was obviously planning something, perhaps with a childhood friend she had. He quickly pushed her out the door and shut it, unpacking.

She walked away lightly, she had avoided the subject of the vampire events very nicely. She silently slipped into the ballroom, looking out the glass doors that lead out to the porch which lead to the garden. She could see it was a nice day outside, she then sighed, she knew her father had something he would want her to do sometime soon.

The servants had put the christmas decorations up, they did a very good job. She walked out of the ballroom and into the main hall, moving up the stairs as she went to her room, swiftly but quietly. She wanted to change out of the clothes she had on. Lucis went into her room as she then went into the walk-in closet, taking off her baggy shirt and sweat pants, throwing them at the bin in the corner.

An arm went around her waist from behind as she quickly turned around in the arms embrace. The man in the mask stood there, his mask back on, as he didn't want to be known. " You didn't think I would stay?"

She looked at him blinking, her clothes off besides her bra and panties. She blushed but then came to her senses, her father was downstairs. " You can'' be here now! My father is downstairs!"

" Oh good, I can meet him." He gave off a slight smile as he ran a hand through his short black hair.

" But you can't," she said somewhat sadly," He can smell vampires. . . It wouldn't be the brightest idea, not to mention I have no idea yet of who you actually are! . . . Oh, and would this be a bad time to ask what happened last night?"

He gave off a slight wink as his mask seemed to simmer and disappear off his pale skin. His true face showing from beneath the mask. He let off a slight smile.

She bit her lower lip, she knew who it was, it was Sir Altus, or so he was called by many. He was the richest in the town, the most well known, and the one that seemed to know her more then she knew him.

Sir Altus gave off a soft smile, laughing slightly as he looked at Lucis who seemed to be giving him a very confused look. " You must not tell anyone about my secret, after all, I would lose my fan base, and you would have all the normal guys afraid of you."

Lucis was forced to give off a bright grin at this point. " Perhaps my father wouldn't notice behind that toned human frame."

" Oh you noticed! I've been working out." He joked lightly, only to look down at her body. " Uhm, before I meet your father, you might want to get some clothes on."

She blushed and bit her lower lip lightly, looking around the closet, slipping on a black dress with a black corset that had been attached to the top. She looked behind her, but he had disappeared. She sighed and went into her bathroom, pulling her hair up into a quick but decent bun. She walked down the stairs in black high heels that had a black ribbon lacing on the tips.

As she reached the bottom stair there was a knock on the door. Her father came out of the little hallway and looked at Lucis," A visitor?" He looked at Lucis curiously," Already have friends?" He smiled as it was a joke and he watched her as she took her steps to the door. Her hand met the silver door knob as she opened it. Sir Altus in a tux stood at the door, he bowed and gently looked at her," I am here about your dinner invitation with your father."

Lucis held in a smile as she looked at him, a black rose tucked in the suit pocket. " Sir Altus, I was wondering when to expect your reply." She was going with the little lie as her father was watching," Come in."

" Thank you," he said with another bow, before briskly walking in, to see her father in a suit as well. He gave off a bow, as well as her father, walking into the dining room, and standing by his chair.

Lucis followed him, to have her dad come by her side and whisper," Why didn't you tell me we were going to have a guest?!"

She just smiled and walked into the dining room, taking a seat in the white chair at the table, as soon as she took a seat, Sir Altus followed next to her, and then her father at the head of the table.

They watched as the maids came in, and set their dinner before them. It was turkey, biscuits with jam and cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes with gravy, and a salad. Lucis took a bit of each, as did her father, while Sir Altus only took a piece of turkey and a biscuit.

To start up a conversation Sir Altus asked," What's the name of the father of this lovely woman?" Lucis smiled as she ate a piece of the biscuit.

Her father, on the other hand, held a firm frown, not an angry one, he just didn't look happy. He replied in a monotone voice, he didn't know this man long, and didn't trust him that well. " You may call me Erus."

" And where do you come from?" Lucis stepped on Altus' foot under the table, telling him to shut up, but he simply moved his foot out from under hers and gave off a small grin.

Erus gave off a slight sneer before answering," I'm not from around these parts." He forced himself to give a slight smile as he noticed Lucis gripping to Altus' elbow. She noticed he had seen and put her hand quickly at her side.

" Lucis, how did you meet such a wealthy looking man?" Lucis could tell her father was suspicious of Altus.

" He is one of my neighbors -" She got cut off by Altus, who suddenly spoke.

" Miss Lucis doesn't have to introduce me, I can introduce myself to such a respectful man." He gave off a smug grin before continuing," I believe you already know my name, however, I believe you are looking for a brief history, and how I met your daughter."

" Indeed so." Erus said, his eyes looking at Altus suspiciously, like he could see through Altus' disguise. Lucis seemed to be completely on edge.

" I was born out of nothing, a poor peasant family on the side of the street. I vowed when hard times hit, I would become one of the wealthy. I worked hard and didn't spend my money away. Which brings me to where I am today. And how I met your daughter, well that was at the introduction masquerade, she had planned."

Soon after dinner was done, Altus stood up and nodded his head lightly. " Thank you, Miss Lucis." He looked over to her father," And thank you. It has been a pleasure to dine with you." He looked over to Lucis and made a wink, that her father couldn't see, and turned to walk to the door. As the front door closed, Lucis nervously looked at her father for an opinion.
