I'm so sick of hearing people complain about the valentines day event. Okay, I admit that it was a very long wait and the big L did a good job at making all of us anxious, but it was still a wonderful and sweet gift.
To account for the other users who got off before the event happened, he stocked the stores with the chocolate boxes, the first event that ever made an event item buyable. How very thoughtful and considerate of you, Lanzer, to care so much about those users who missed the opportunity to find a box of chocolates in their inventory. If only every other event was like this. Everyone would have gotten a corsage or the black bowtie or an easter egg, but this event brought about a huge amount of complaint.
I don't think the new 'generation' of gaian users realize how very fortunate they are. They don't know what true dissapointment is unless they joined a day or two after a huge event, such as 2003's easter event, and find out that there's no way to get the item unless someone is willing to sell it to you, and usually it's for a rediculously high price. That the jewelry store is selling the chocolates means that it's possible for people a few days late, or perhaps a week late, to buy an item that normally would not be available to them. And it's very cheap too, so everyone has an equal access to it.
Besides, as if we don't have a rediculously inflated economy already. These are just pixels! Why spend so much energy mourning over pixels! Gaian gold cannot buy you burgers, nor pay rent, nor get you further in life. Geez, people take this so seriously that it takes the fun out of the game.
And we should be lucky that the admins even decided to celebrate valentines day with an item. Last year, they didn't. And besides, Valentines day isn't about the items you get on Gaia; it's a celebration of your love for someone special to you. Love needs nothing and costs nothing.
The greed here on Gaia is outrageous. Maybe the admins have been to nice, seeing that the majority of the gaian populace is so spoiled as to think that every signifigant holiday is their right to get their hands on an item they can hoard and sell later on for a high price. It's those users that make me sick.
The only people complaining about the event are the greedy ones. Screw you all.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have someone I want to share my love with.

I have a livejournal, but I need a place where I can talk about my Gaian life. I never talk about Gaia there, so this is where I shall keep my affairs
