The Job -- Part I
So...I now have a second job. I work in the kitchens of the local hospital where my mom also works in the OR as a nurse. Yeah...And as a few of you know, and many don't, I'm really not too happy with it. I hardly have any time to myself now and my body is constantly sore. I've been thinking about doing this for a while, too, so now that I finally have a chance, I'm going to put up a small mini-journal of my work and how its gone between chances to actually post it.

Monday - I was in training with a girl I'd gone to school with and knew pretty well. The first few hours went off without a hitch, but once we started working in the dishroom, I got overheated and felt like I was going to throw up once every five minutes. Once home, I cried myself to sleep at how miserable I was.

Wednesday - That day I trained with a girl I'd never met before, but we got along well. We worked together well and I didn't react as harshly to the dishroom as I did on Monday. We actually could have gotten out sooner if two of the girls hadn't been wasting time, but it doesn't matter.

Friday - The dishwasher broke halfway through the night and we ended up having to do the rest by hand. Due to this, we didn't get out until two hours after our shift was supposed to end.

Saturday - I discovered a friend from High School would be working with me now and again, and the time flew as we reconnected over dishes and steralizing rinse. I learned that he would be old enough for me to date within the next few weeks and we talked about possibly hooking up, though with my other friends, I doubt he took me seriously.

Sunday - My friend and I worked together again on dishes and again we worked later than we were supposed to, this time because our supervisor of the day wanted us to stay and clean the floors.

Monday - I was without my friend, but the dishmachine had been fixed. However, instead of automatically pulling the trays through the line, we had to push them through the machine manually. I have no upperbody strength, yet I was the one scheduled for dishroom. My shoulders are still sore. And I burned my pinkie in a freak mashed potato accident. Sadly, no mashed potato powers....as of yet...

Wednesday - We were out early! Our group on moved in a pace that not only got us a decent break, but I was also able to eat for once instead of having to wait until I got home before I could have dinner, so starved I no longer felt hungry. I usually don't eat before work due to the fact that I would be nausious during dishwashing from the heat and work.

Thursday - The possibility to leave early again passed us by as our supervisor asked us to do a stupid little task that only needed two people instead of five. I've decided that one of the things I enjoy about that job is the hose we use to clean the dishroom. It sprays warm-to-hot water and I enjoy the chance to play in water, so I don't mind getting wet from the hose and I particularly enjoy spraying a few people now and again, especially when they get on my nerves.

...Okay...perhaps its not as bad as I make it out to be...but still...I get paid to do a simple job and the benefits are through the roof. More fun stories to come as I work more and more.
