Quiet Partings... and why *rose*
Realizing that Rose was seriously getting ready to leave immediatly, Taran could not help but voice his curiosity about it.

"So... why are we not following the fairies' advice and staying a few days, until you get better?" Taran asked. ANTIE-D looked at him funny, but Rose continued to get dressed behind the dressing screen. Or, that is what Taran assumed, from the rustling noises and such coming from behind the folding screen.

"After all, you are part fairy, yourself. And we could not have gotten here in your ship. Haven't you thought that this might be the last time in a considerable while that you might be able to visit? Learn more about your powers? Find out if you have any relatives? You know?" Taran still got no response from Rose, and ANTIE-D had since gone back to ignoring him.

"Are you even listening to me?" Taran asked, frustrated.

Still receiving no response, Taran stalked off to the window and stared through it. He certainly had no reason to leave in a hurry. But neither did he truly wish to stay.

A minute or so later, and Taran felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around, and ANTIE-D was beckoning him over. Rose was at the door, all ready to go, and looking out the cracked door to see if anyone was there. Glancing around the room, Taran saw the vase of flowers next to the bed where Rose lay sleeping peacefully.

"Wha-?" Taran started to ask, and ANTIE-D placed a hand on his arm, shaking her head. Looking to the door, Taran saw Rose glance back at him, and smile.

"Let's go." she said quietly, and slipped out the door.

Following quickly, Taran and ANTIE-D trotted quietly through the halls. It was late, after all, and no one seemed to be up and around. But their room had been near the silft1, and fairies came and went often through there often. Finding their way to the staircase, Rose led Taran and ANTIE-D up the stairs, closing the door to the stairwell silently behind them.

"Sorry. Now we can talk." Rose said, as she started up. She had already found out what level the Altsoba was on, and was not going to stop along the way.

"I left a hologram in my place back there... I figure someone will go checking in on me or some such. Can't have that right now. I created the hologram easily, it was setting the hologram with the correct magical sequences to have the same "look" as me- to trick the fairy sensors- that was difficult."

Taran followed, brow furrowed. Since when was she so skilled with mixing technology and magic? He thought she was somewhat of a naive magical creature. And she acted somewhat immature at times, too. So odd.

"Anyways, that should give us enough time to get clear of the system. ANTIE-D?" Rose said.

"Yes. I have been in contact with Nerissa Altsoba. We are welcome aboard and they should be ready to leave when we arrive. The issue with the rogue fairies seems to have been handled, though that might alarm the fairies soon."

"Wait- what issue? What rogue fairies?" Taran asked, totally lost.

"Sorry. I was busy with the hologram and you seemed so moody. Things have not been calm on the Altsoba since we left." Rose answered.

Taran sighed. "Like that's new?"

Rose laughed, albeit quietly. "Okay, you got me there. But I don't have time to go into all of it now. Here's what is important to know. One. The rogue fairies were in league with Rilla- the one who attacked everyone on the ship? Ya. Well, they wanted to destroy Dragon or something. Anyways, they are no longer a conern- for the moment. Here's the other thing. The main reason we need to get going now. Apparently, I do have relatives. Or, more correctly, had. I am the last in a certain lineage that... well, might cause controversy throughout the fairy population if it were known. And I'm pretty sure that Rilla has more than a hunch about it right now. So..."

"Leaving would be for the best." Taran finished. "Got it. What floor again?" he asked, as they passed yet another door while walking up the staircase.

"Should be this next one." ANTIE-D said, and looked back at Taran. "Do you want me to carry you?" she asked.

"No." Taran said, a little annoyed. Everyone always assumed that he was weak because he seemed old. But the truth was, while his hair was white, he was not elderly yet. Why did everyone assume so?

Meanwhile, aboard the Nerissa Altsoba

A black portal opened in the middle of an empty docking bay, and one tentative foot reached out and set upon the ground, followed by the other.

Sensing no movements in the area with her bare feet planted on the ground, the woman closed the portal behind her silently. Then she raised the ball of her right foot and put it back down again. She was definately in a storage type area, and no one was anywhere nearby. But she knew there were people aboard, and that they would find her all too soon.

Soundlessly she walked over to a stack of barrels, and laying a hand on them, smiled. She could wait here. Rose would be able to find her here. She turned, and leaned against the barrels, and began to wait.

1. silft. History and definition.
In fairy worlds, most inhabitants can fly. The need for elevators is practically non-existant. Stairwells are placed in buildings for creatures that might be on the planet that can not fly, only walk. But silfts are the shafts that fairies use inside buildings to go from one floor to the next. They are doorless, and the common practice is to use the northern side when flying up and the southern side when flying down. Larger than elevator shafts, the opening to each floor is at least ten feet across by ten feet wide.
Rose's room was located almost directly across from a busy silft.

Didn't realize Lineage was so important to faeries. Figured only Shiny things mattered...

Taran should really dye his hair if he wants to be treated younger....

*Punches her hand out through where the voice originated from, only to find air*
Good. Didn't think you were alive.
Doesn't matter who I am... I can tell someone is coming, though.
